  • Great idea with some flaws
Size: 17.9" to 29.1"
I had the opportunity to use four of the Sirui T60 tube lights. The key feature is the telescoping shaft. Being able to change the length of the light essentially gives you two lights in one with double the light output. This feature is especially useful when traveling by airplane. Common 24" or larger tube lights won't easily fit in a standard suitcase. These can fit in a carry on bag. There is a slight difference in the appearance of the light around the seam, but in use it wasn't an issue. The light quality is quite nice, but I think I was getting slightly better colors from my Nanlite products. While the remote control sounds like a good idea, the reality is it's hard to use. It attaches to the light with magnets and the internal, non-removable battery is charged from the tube light. The screen and buttons are small. It powers off by itself too quickly. It's easy to mis-mount it on the tube light or knock it off by accident. It can only be charged when connected to the light with the power on. I would much prefer to have larger screen built into the tube light with easy to use controls. The app has similar issues. It has all the features you need, but the lights will lose connection after some time and don't easily reconnect. This is especially painful when you have multiple lights connected. The app allows you to group them to control them all at the same time. However, they disconnect after some time and I needed to tap on each individual light and toggle the power button in the app multiple times to get each to reconnect. Sometimes only some of the lights would respond. It's a real problem when the only other way of controlling the lights (with the remote control) is also less than desirable. For comparison, I have some Nanlite products which stay connected even after hours of non-use. The preset colors all default to 100% brightness, which is jarring. It would be nice if the brightness remained the same while selecting the different colors. The CCT mode does not have green/magenta adjustment. The lights have a barrel plug connector for powering and charging with the included the AC power supply. It would be better if they had USB-C power delivery so they could be charged with more common power supplies and cables. The size and weight are less than some brands, which is a positive. The price is at the higher end, but is somewhat justified when you consider the size and usefulness of the telescoping shaft. If you don't need the telescoping feature you can certainly save some money by buying other brands. Pros: - telescoping shaft - bright - remote control - adjustable from very bright to very dim - 1/4" 20 threaded mount on the bottom, metal loop on top - mini tripod included - relatively low size and weight Cons: - remote turns off too soon, easy to knock off, small screen and buttons - no built in controls - no USB-C power capabilities - disconnect too quickly from app and require tedious process to reconnect - expensive Overall: The telescoping feature makes this tube light very attractive, but the issues with the app are a big negative. The app is the preferred way of controlling the light since the tiny remote is cumbersome to use. USB-C powering would be a handy feature. I look forward to the second generation of this light. ... show more

  • Kind of klunky interface
Size: 17.9" to 29.1"
While the wand is bright, and extending/retracting the wand was one of my chief reasons for purchasing it, the interface to control the wand is rather clunky and awkward, forcing me to scroll through different pre-programmed selections. Otherwise the colors are bright and it works very well for area ambient lighting. ... show more

  • Remote is....not that good
Size: 17.9" to 29.1"
The light and output is good The telescopic design is brilliant But the remote on/off is really bad. Struggle to just turn on/off. Hold the on/off for too long you will turn off the remote instead of the light. Hold it for too short, it does nothing. Also, my remote sometimes turned upside down, i have to turn it upside down to see my setting... I think that's a glitch. No usbc charging.... And removable battery.. ... show more

  • A tremendously fun light bar
Size: 17.9" to 29.1"
What is there not to live about this light bar? It makes the perfect shade of purples and pinks which lend themselves so nicely to a neon themed shoot. I wish I had two of these so I could really make beautiful photos with them, but I made due with the one and a soft light as my secondary. I love that there is a removable remote that you can adjust on the spot with. I love that it is telescoping- the battery Ty lasts a really long time, it’s portable, the bag for it is perfect too. There’s features I have not used yet like the movie mode lights, police lights things like that- but for basic photography alone it has been a game changer. It’s honestly one of the nicest lights I own and I really think I’ll be buying a second one. If you are on the fence- don’t be, you will love the results and be happy you got it. I love love love this thing. Hope this helps. ... show more

  • It’s a lightsaber!
Size: 17.9" to 29.1"
The media could not be loaded. I have to admit something. I’ve always considered myself extremely knowledgeable about photography and to some extent video. And I am quite the gear hound. However there is so much gear out there and nobody knows everything. So despite my experience I’ve never really heard of a light bar. Except the one that you put underneath your Wii. I have passed the listings several times without paying attention to it and then at some point I noticed the price. So this is priced as serious prosumer gear. Not professional gear because that can go up into the high hundreds and thousands. But this is not a cheap light either. So I looked at the details and it seemed interesting and I went ahead and ordered one. And wow I am completely blown away. First of all the build quality is excellent. That’s not surprising as I already own several Sirui products. This thing has all the hallmarks of a finally built piece of professional gear. But wow this thing is so versatile. It actually can replace two video lights with barn doors and various modifiers. It can’t do everything those things can but it can create a lot of effects you cannot get with a standard light. And of course it has the first class modern set of a fax that lighting has now including the colors and scene effects. It’s just a really nicely built light. You can use it plugged in or you can use it battery operated and it has complete and total control over the light. There’s a control panel on the light that pulls off and becomes a remote and you can also control it through an app. Another reviewer mentioned having problems with the remote and all I can say is they may have gotten a bad one and I would contact the manufacturer because I love this remote. It is brilliantly designed and easy to use. And I love how it magnetically stove is on the light itself. And if you don’t like the remote you can control it via smart phone app. The remote also has 10 channels so you can actually control not only 10 lights separately but 10 groups of lights separately. That is amazingly powerful. USB-C would’ve been nice for charging. But this thing is 12.6 V at 2 A and that would require more than a standard USB-C. You would need PD because this is also the cable to run it off of AC power, they went with a barrel connector. If they added power delivery to the USB-C it might’ve added to the cost significantly. I’m not sure. But the transformer on this power cable would require a $45 USB-C power break and maybe that’s why they went with the standard cable. All this to say that the criticism so far about this light I feel a bit unduly harsh. And look at my review history, I am not a pushover. But when I get something great I cannot help but sing its praises. It also comes with a little tripod and a nice carrying case and you can set the light on it’s in the end get a nice vertical lighting a factor you can put it on the tripod and angle it however you wanted to get some very interesting lighting effects. This could also be used in the live environment. A couple of these would really liven up a dance floor. It’s always nice when you come across a piece of new rather unique gear that can add a complete set of new ideas and perspectives to your toolbox and this is one of those things. ... show more
