i had an old, tattered, all cotton one very similar to this, except this one has a hood. i wore the sleeves off of the old one sigh... this one is big, fluffy, and warm. i have one of those ridiculous plush robes too. i've stopped wearing that one. at a very similar price, this one, made of towel fabric is MUCH better.

This review is based on the navy blue hooded robe i purchased. It is just the right weight for me. Its medium thickness and has some weight to it. It would be heavier if wet. When i read it was 100% cotton, i assumed there would be some shrinkage - so i sprang for the XL. But if you like large the sizing is accurate - even after washing. I am 6’0/175 pounds. If you get one - wash it first in cold water and the dry cycle for cotton.

This robe turned out to be not worth the money for one very simple reason: It never stopped shedding. It seemed fine at first, but then we started noticing navy blue lint everywhere. I mean, all over the house. It was just was the weirdest thing. Washing it didn't help, but in fact, made it worse. And after it was washed, there were all these loose threads hanging off of it. Honestly, you get what you pay for and while this wasn't the most inexpensive option, it really was not well-made and the fabric was really sub-par. Ended up returning it for a full refund.
