Tried this and a regular floor futon, and this was much more comfortable. Wanted something besides an air mattress that could look a bit stylish for a short time without a bed and I really enjoyed this. The fact that it folds into something like a couch is also great, although the way the mattress folds, you can't get it into a perfect 90 degree angle for aesthetics. I also just dislike the velvety material as it feels like it traps in heat, and even having a sheet on top doesn't help too much. My husband has a bad back, which keeps him from sleeping quite a bit. After some deliberation, we bought one of these that covered half of our bed. I put a sheet on it (separately) and put it above our fitted sheet on the bed, then covered it with the top sheet and comforter. He is sleeping better than he has for quite a while! It is just the right amount of soft/firm. About the only downside, if it can be called one, is that it makes the bed taller (but he doesn't seem to have any trouble after the first night). Also, company shipped quickly and mattress was in perfect condition when it arrived. We let it sit for a day and although it didn't increase in thickness much (it is 4") it did get a bit firmer. ... show more

I previously got two folding mattresses, one from Walmar and one from Sinweek. The one from Walmart wore off (sunk in with the body weight) after a couple of weeks, and the mattress was not really re-usable. The one from Sinweek remained firm after 3 months of use. I'm getting another size from Sinweek. Although these are slightly more expensive (~$20) than the ones sold at Walmart and similar outlets, they're better values. ... show more
