Overall I am relatively pleased with the look and feel of the coffee table. Delivery was quick even over the holidays. Assembly had a couple small challenges but it came together without too much effort in the end. The top comes with two support crossbars already affixed and screwed down. One of them was stripped, split and loose. Since it didn't seem necessary to the overall structure of the table, I just glued it down with wood glue and moved on. The wood and finish, however, are soft and scratch VERY easily. A swipe with a toy or a dish will leave a noticeable gouge. I have had the table three weeks, and have kept a cloth on top of it, and still need to repair scratches already. I will have a glass top made, which will hopefully help us get our money's worth out of the table. ... show more

I ordered two of these to go in my living room. They are very pretty end tables but the size is all wrong. The measurements on the website are right but when I actually put it in my living room next to my couch and loveseat they look very small. The height is only 18 inches and most end tables are 24 inches. That’s a big difference and they just look like miniature furniture. The drawers are also very small and will hold very little. If I had a choice for a bigger size I would’ve been very happy with these. It took me two hours to build this table and I do not feel like taking it apart to send it back so I will figure out somewhere to use that one but I am definitely sending the other one back ... show more

We purchased two of these. It said that both were delivered but we only received one which the Amazon delivery picture confirmed. A few quick clicks and Amazon corrected the issue and we received the second one a few days later. One had some finish issues on the bottom shelf and the drawer sticks at closing and opening. The finish probably is now hidden under magazines and I don’t open the drawer very often so overall pretty happy with these tables and consider them a good value for the money. ... show more

Fairly simple to assemble, most dowels are just guide pins though. The wood top that you see the most is painted but they could prep it better prior to painting to reduce noticeable flaws. Good price.

The top and shelves are plywood. The fit of parts is excellent. I used glue on the dowel-pins, I don’t plan to disassemble. The stain is well applied. The finish has skips, but they are not immediately noticeable.

PLEASE NOTE: This review applies to all four pieces of furniture we purchased. This end table storage was the first we put together and the easiest piece with no "issues". Ok...read on. First, this is fairly decent wood and material. There were some minor imperfections in the finish but I expected that with the "distressed" finish. The directions were OK but could use some improvement in identifying which is front, back, etc. Some pieces were marked left and right; but front and back would also be very helpful as I'll mention later. And packaging was really good; we didn't have any damage to any of the four pieces we purchased. From other reviews I read, I think we got lucky there. Now, on to the OK and some not so good stuff. My husband and I are pretty good at working together, following directions, and assembling things which need assembling. We purchased four pieces from Simpli Home. The first, an end table, went together like a breeze. Next, the coffee table was fairly simple but with two mishaps: we had a divider piece turned around, and the hardware provided was for a chest of drawers and not a coffee table. We were able to purchase the needed wooden dowels from a local hardware store and use most of the other provided hardware. Unfortunately, the knobs were incorrect so I'm waiting for their customer service to get back to me. Third came the storage cabinet which my husband assembled all by himself with no problems. Finally, this beast of an entertainment center. After hours of assembly by two fairly qualified persons, we have one jacked-up piece of furniture. We had to un-assemble it to turn around the middle section when we realized two pieces were backwards. After reassembly and putting the hardware on, we then realized the end sides were also facing the wrong way so the front doors on the ends can't be mounted; the hinges won't fit. Finally, the directions aren't clear which way the bottom shelf of the flip-down section needs to be mounted; it looks like the side with the beveled out indentation for the hinges goes face up; but when we tried to mount the flip-up door, it's way out of alignment. We're not going to bother taking the whole thing apart just to turn around the two end pieces so we're going to leave the ends open; we'll make it work. We're also going to take off the flip-down door and leave that open, too. So, bonus, we can use the knobs from these unusable pieces and mount them on the coffee table. If you're interested in any of the furniture from this company and aren't fully versed in assembly, I recommend you find the extra $$ and opt for the pre-assembly option. ... show more

Table is sturdy, color is good. Instructions could be easier to understand. Read before sitting in floor to assemble and make sure you have correct screwdrivers and mallet or you will be getting up and down several times. My only complaint is not realizing these tables at less than 20” are well below standard height for a nightstand. Both of my previous sets were 24” and 30” high. We ordered 2 and it was easy assembly but as my husband was finishing putting the second one together he noticed big scratch and really did not want to take apart and send back. They need to be more careful packaging the items.
