Listen up ladies! It's high time we all knew that sun protection is the number one wrinkle-preventer alive. Also, an added plus is a much lower risk of developing skin cancer. Who knew, right? (We knew!) I love the look of the floppy sun hat, but all the ones I've tried have been, well, floppy. They are sturdy shade-givers for maybe a few uses, and then they just flop. Useless and annoying. This visor is so flexibly sturdy! I can kind of guide the sides to where I want them to be with little bends here and there, and they stay where I put them. It protects my skin and keeps me feeling a little cooler in the freaking devil heat we've had in the last couple of weeks here in Ky. I even wear it in the water while I'm floatin, and the back gets a little wet but dries very quickly. No dirty lakewater smell either. There are so many color options. I chose the natural-beige one. I also purchased the slightly creamier natural color, but it did not look as good with my hair color or skin tone, so I returned. It did look nice on my sister's much lighter hair though. Also, the velcro bow really makes it customizable to various head shapes. The absolute best feature is its travel potential. Roll it up, elastic, and bam. Fits in basically any bag. In the picture, the elastic is sticking out the bottom, but it is very easily tuckable. My sis was just like "lemme take a pic of ur hair real quick" so I obviously obliged. (Perfect for this review, though, right?!) The only complaint I have found with this is that in one spot on the back left "flap" there is a tiny piece of the plastic straw that sticks out and snags my bathing suit strap, or slightly scratches my shoulder. But I took nail clippers and a file and eliminated the issue. No repeats necessary so far. I've taken it on about 6 lake trips so far, with no issues! Lots of compliments and requests to borrow! Anyway, great price point, well-made, good material, and functional. The size of the shade is also great for me personally. I ordered a couple other brands to try too and they were kind of small and a little awkward-looking. Also I will point out that I was looking specifically for a visor! I didn't want a hat, because I also like to lighten my hair in the summer sun. Also, the visor feature is what really makes the roll-up feature work. I'm sure a hat would be better overall for avoiding heat, but I gotta say, the visor helps plenty!

I absolutely adore this hat. I'm one of those extremely fair, blue eyed women, and I swear if you even mention sunlight, I burn! 😉 My hair used to actually be completely white, but that changed to a more golden blonde in my early teens. My hair gotdarker, but my skin did not and I am still extremely sensitive to the sun. I have to buy special sunscreen especially for the summer months that has to exceed a factor 50 to keep me fully protected, not to mention that I have to wear sunscreen year round., Melanoma runs in both sides of my family, and I had my first bout of pre-cancerous Melanoma in my large birth mark on my back & in 2 moles on my shoulder at the age of 12. Since then I have had to visit my Dermatologist for rescreenings every 3 years. I've been extremely lucky that it hasn't reappeared, however the dermatologist tells me every time to remain vigilant, not expose too much skin to the sun & ensure I always wear a high power sun screen. Iown a lot of hats, but this is truly 1 of the most favorites in my arsenal. Not only is it beautiful & fashionable, but it folds up so small you can take it with you with in a small bag or purse & not damage it in any way. Then when you're ready to use it again, simply unroll it, and wala it's a beautiful, full coverage sun hat once again. It's the perfect shape to cover your face, neck, fron & back, & a little of your shoulders from the sun. It also has this great opening to allow extra heat to escape, and allows for women to wear with pony tails, top knots or high buns while still getting the sun coverage they need. It comes in so many different colors, & styles that there should be 1 to satisfyevery women. This company has me as a loyal customer for life!

I bought this hat for a 2 week trip to Belize. I am currently receiving laser hair removal treatment on my face so I felt that in addition to my 40 SPF I wanted a hat that could serve as a physical barrier to the sun. We spent a lot of time outside, scuba diving, walking, hiking mayan ruins, and this hat was in tow the whole time. It held up very well, and didn't break or have any damage at all. It is light, and I like that it is packable. It's also nice that it is a visor, so it doesn't feel as hot as a hat might. But if you have a part in your hair you need to remember to sunscreen it! the brim is a good size that I felt my face was covered the whole time, but I didn't feel like I was hiding underneath it and it was still easy to interact with people. Two things I was disappointed in were that the brim is always a little wavy from being rolled up. I was hoping for more of a smooth bill, just cause it looks more polished. But you probably can't get that in any packable hat. The brim is stiff enough that it holds itself up and it's too floppy or anything. The second thing is I wish it had a tiny strap to keep in on your head. Since I wore it on a boat I had to keep a hand on it the whole time just to be sure it wouldn't fly off. I think I will try to add one myself before my next trip. For me this is more a functional hat than a fashionable hat, but that being said I feel it is one of the most fashionable of the functional hats. If you need a hat to keep the sun off and it needs to be packable and cute, this is a good candidate.

I love this hat. I own & have owned several. Every time Poseidon claims one; I buy two more. He loves them as well!! Rolls small, travels great, smushes flat. My favorite feature is I can bend them at will and they stay. I'm overhere looking ridiculous at soccer games because it is the perfect hat for a moving sun vs a pack of running lads. Any and every outdoor activity I have hauled this hat along. The wrap strap/ hairband that ties the hat into travel mode perfectly wraps around a bun to keep the hat secured in a wind. Or you can forget and lose your hat to the goddess of the wind and water. These things sink fast! I love it so much we've spent more than one occasion attempting to tie wine corks on it to get it to float. To no avail. The only thing that would get me to stop buying this hat is an upgraded obscenely large southern belle version or this exact hat that floats! I want to say they are extremely durable as I always have one shoved somewhere and they get USED. I'm going to put a maybe on that as they probably average about 3 years before they hit the bottom of the drink. My life goal is to leave one in every body of water on earth. Jk. That's where my sunglasses are. Not to imply this flies off in any wind. In town I have never lost a single one. It's very secure everywhere but wind over water. Never lost one anywhere else.

I love this hat! Until now, I have never been able to find a straw hat that fits comfortably on my apparently large head. This one is near perfect! Adjustable, stays in place well, cute. I wasn't sure which color to choose, but so glad I went with the black. Goes well with my swimwear and skin tone (beige straw hats often make my fair skin look too red and splotchy). I've already worn it to the beach and pool multiple times since I received it, and it's holding up well so far. It's great for reading outdoors on a sunny day. The velcro is sufficiently strong, and I appreciate that the sticky side faces away from my hair instead of towards it (I have a different straw visor whose adjustable velcro strap always gets stuck in my hair. Ugh!) I love that it's open on top, too, as I usually wear my hair up, especially in the summer heat, and this allows plenty of space for a ponytail or messy bun. So glad I found this!

Let’s be honest, I’m wearing this hat for function not style, but it’s actually surprisingly cute on. Sure I look like I just came out of my fourth divorce and am now reclaiming my mojo on a beach vacation to the tropics, but with all the money I won in the settlement, I can afford to look damn good. Basically, If you want more sun protection than a baseball hat but also want to wear your hair up, this hat is ideal. It shaded my whole face and most of my shoulders and chest nicely. Love that it rolls up for easy travel and the bow in the back is cute. I do wish it had 360 degree coverage; I have to be careful that the back of my neck, which is exposed by the cutout shape, doesn’t burn. My head is average for an adult woman (50% of women have my head size) and the fit is great. If your head is smaller (30% have this size), you may be disappointed because it’s hard to cinch down without it getting bulky. If your head is bigger (20%) it’s easy to expand.

I like the look and functionality of this hat. However, for whatever reason the fabric gives me pimples on my forehead and now I have scars as a result. :( I will be throwing it away and ordering a brand that I previously had that did not do this.
