Pros: I like that this sun hat can be rolled up and can be easily carried in my purse. It is ideal for traveling and beach wear. It does a good job of providing sun protection. Cons: I have a smaller head so this hat is loose on me. Even though the size can be adjusted it is still limited by the size of the Velcro. In my case, it is still too large even after adjusting the Velcro. I'm always looking for a summer hat, especially one that will travel well. This one is adjustable with a nice wide brim. It is a pretty sun shade. There is a big bow in the back that covers where it comes apart and re-attaches with velcro for a good fit. Unfortunately for me, it will not fit as I have a small head and thin hair. It will not adjust small enough. I have tried to wear it several times as it is such a nice sunshade. Oh, yes, I forgot to mention that when the two back pieces are not connected you can roll the hat up from one end to the other and it takes up very little space in your suitcase or handbag for travelling. This hat is so cute I can not wait till summer to wear it on the beach. I am a seasonal camper so as soon as the weather gets nice we camp from May thru to the middle of October. We apend alot of time at the pond in the sun. Last year I swore I would get some kind of hat to cover my eyes from the sun. I am so happy I found this hat. It looks really cute on and rolls up small enough that I can easily throw it in my beach bag and it doesnt take up much space at all. The last hat I ordered has a permanent crease going down the middle of it this one does not have that issue at all. It gets rolled up with is genius. I ordered the back and white style as it will match with basically anything. I like how easy it is to put on and take off. Nice coverage and easy to put on with a ponytail, but the black and white pattern wasn't a good choice. The straw has flaws, and it so happens that two of the most glaring flaws are visible if you look straight on - one is on the underside, but very visible when someone looks at you b/c it's right next to your face, and the other one is right in the front. The black and white weave is just messed up, so there are spots that are all black, which really stands out and makes it look like there's something gross on your hat. Shoddy. Loving this for sun protection. The visor does allow some sun to filter through, not much, but you’ll still want to wear your sunscreen. It is comfortable - I would say the exception to that is if you are resting your head on something, the bow in the back makes it a little uncomfortable. It packs so well! And it’s cute. Better than a hat because I have a place for my hair to be comfortably out of the way. Pro tip… Keep your SPF lip balm in your hair tie. ... show more

I will finally be wearing this black one now that it's winter. I used the straw-colored one ALL SUMMER LONG and nothing bad happened to it (as has happened with others) -- specifically, the headband is wide, or long-enough to go properly around my thick head of hair without eventually popping open, or without the threads breaking, as has happened w/ others of this general style. I bought this hat for sun protection & shade so I could fully enjoy long walks with my dog because I live in North Carolina (where the forecast on an average summer is 88 degrees and sunny with 90%).
