The size is perfect, (he had a huge bag for pre-k last year mostly because he wanted a Ninja Turtle one and I couldn't find a smaller size one) functionality and the quality is just amazing. I'd definitely recommend. There's 2 mesh side pockets and 2 pockets on the front of the bag. In the inside you can put a tablet or small laptop I think, which we won't be using, at least for now, and another pocket which I believe is pretty deep. My only gripe was we had to wait way longer than expected. My first ordered was cancelled, due to the package being damaged, and when I reordered it was $10 more. My son loves his backpack! Main reason we bought it, was for the ninja turtle design/pattern. This medium size is perfect for his age group (preschool/elementary). Fits his binder, folder, lunchbox, and water bottle comfortably. I had to order two of these backpacks. My first order got lost in the mail and never got delivered at Amazon didn’t refund me for weeks. Finally I ordered a new one before I even got my refund that came in very nice. I am happy with the backpack, but Amazon shipping has been crap lately.

My kids have used these backpacks for 2 months no and there are no signs of wear at all. I love all the compartments and straps that help their little bodies carry them. The straps are very comfortably padded too! Love the double side pockets for 2 water bottles. Great backpack!

This is a really cute bag, and the smaller size is perfect for a Pre-K or K kiddo. It’s well made and the side pocket is large enough for a kids water bottle. The inside looks like it will be big enough for snow pants and boots while still fitting well.
