    • I wouldn't put anything important in this "bookcase"

Sure you could build all these things together and MAKE a bookcase out of each cube but it's not worth it. It takes two grown adults to force the pieces together but a small push to pop off everything. It claims to hold 30 pounds but it feels too fragile for that. Also I don't know about you guys, but I like to put things in the very corner of a square object. Get as much space as I can out of each cube. Nope, too awkward. You'll end up popping a piece off or forcing something that shouldn't be where it belongs, which ultimately might pop off a piece anyway. Whatever you put better be easily replaceable. Gets an extra star because honestly for its price and dimensions as well as the ability to shape it how you want it's pretty good... It's just not executed well. The only metal thing here are the bars used to fit the pieces. The rest feel like flimsy plastic. The legs are equally bad being the piece that flys off the most and just honestly a waste of time. I can say compared to competitors it at least has a pure black design instead of something that ruins most anesthetics. Ideal for a bathroom at best but nothing else (most people wouldn't buy the 16 cube version for a bathroom anyway) ... show more

The size is perfect at 12" square. The assembly was very easy. I had my yarn stored in a box and had to take everything out each time I looked for something. I orered a six pack and liked them so much I ordered another 6 pack. Since i crochet in my living room I wanted to keep the yarn there. Toy organization on a budget! I was pleasantly surprised by this product. The panels are great quality and sturdy. It took me about 15-20 minutes to put together. A tip: make sure you lock each panel into place before moving on to the next one. You should hear it click into place! I purchased the bins separately on Amazon (dimensions: 10.75”x10.75”x11”) and they work great! *I will update my review if any issues arise* ... show more

    • You would have one less cube if you put it like the staircase shown.

I like the product! It was easy to put together. However, when putting it together like the picture shown(three on top and eight on bottom) i only had enough for 11 cubes. With two panels extra. So, i just did the standard three by four cube setup.

These are surprisingly sturdy for being plastic and metal. They hold books and heavy boxes really well. About half the price of a wooden shelf I was going to get so I am pleasantly surprised and glad I went the cheaper route!

I bought one 12-cube set initially and then ended up buying another one to add for toy organization and another black one for our office.
