I bought this to make a heat shield for the headers on the intake side of my 4runner. I built a custom intake and the charge tube is right over the exhaust headers. As did the stock tube. Since cold air makes power I wanted to keep the heat down with the exhaust. I cut the mat to the correct size then layered it with thermal tape and installed it over the area I wanted to reflect. I was redoing one of the fans in my 12 year old hvac furnace and had to replace the insulation as well. This worked great. It was thicker than I needed it to be but I was easily able to tear off half of it and it was just the amount I needed.
