Description

After bringing Mini-ITX into mainstream DIY (do it yourself) market in 2009 with the Sugo SG05, Silverstone is looking to define the category again with SG13, a newly evolved design that aims to satisfy every type of computer users. At only 11.5 liters in size, it has suitably small statue for easily integrating into numerous computing environments and will comfortably fit many standard components for general purpose or office builds. 3700x + H80 intake = 60s under load. 2070 super blower. Make sure you stay under 10.6" and do 2 Slot width. Loudest thing is the gpu fan. Whole thing is roughly 1 banana tall by 1 banana wide and 1.3 bananas deep - like a short fat shoe box or if you taped 4 40oz boxes of Bisquick™ together and laid them on their side. The feet are set in a little bit so it can perch on something with a a bit of the case hanging over like a muffin top. Front feet are set 2" in from the front of the case and are about 5" apart. I've always been a fan of SFF gaming PCs. I don't even carry them to parties or anything often, but I still enjoy them. A few years ago, I built a small gaming PC in one of Silverstone Tek's other mini-ITX cases that was vertically arranged. It was a great case but was a rat's nest. Partly my fault for poor build order and cable management, but also just not a great layout. This SG13 case uses a better layout that allows for actual empty space and airflow if you assemble in the correct order and dedicate serious time to cable management. The case itself is not necessarily a steal at ~$45, but is certainly worth every penny. I got the mesh front and can honestly say that the waffle pattern seen in the picture is not nearly as prominent in person. The metal (the sides and top are one piece) is not very thick but does feel sturdy enough to hold up. It does tend to bulge out slightly, but that's a minor nuisance. When it comes to building, I felt that it was very easy to work with. I won't list my full build, but just what mattered for this case. The motherboard, CPU, ram, and storage are nothing more than preference, though if you can get away with a single 2.5" drive (I used a 250GB SSD), I'd recommend it to negate the need for the upper drive bay. Graphics: EVGA GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0 EVGA GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0 4GB GDDR5 Graphics Card 04G-P4-2983-KR This is absolutely the longest Graphics Card that will fit without modification to the front. There is not a single millimeter to spare. Choose wisely. Cooling: Corsair H55 AIO Water Cooler Corsair Hydro Series H55 Quiet Edition Liquid CPU Cooler (CW-9060010-WW) I recommend water cooling regardless of processor or OC to keep CPU temps low. If air cooling, definitely use a blower-style graphics card. Power Supply: Corsair 600W Modular Corsair CX Series 600 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Bronze ATX12V/EPS12V 552 Power Supply CX600M ATX is fine but I recommend modular design to keep cable clutter down. If water cooling, I recommend having fan facing out so it gets cool air. Mount the 2.5" drive first, then mount the already fully assembled motherboard. Keep cables managed along the way. Graphics card should be last. Long graphics cards (like mine) will either need to be mounted through the front or at least have that side of the front popped loose so there is room to back it in first. The case is awesome, and I highly recommend it, just be conscious of its limitations. By following good steps and stuffing spare wire above the radiator, the actual center of my case is open space. No wires, just good airflow. As others have stated, a 140mm cooler will be problematic for the graphics card and drive bay if you end up using. Happy building. ... show more

The whole chassis is about the size of a shoebox, and has ventilation everywhere it needs to. It's fairly versatile and can support SFX or ATX power supplies, as well as an AIO for the CPU. You'd probably want to use an AIO since there isn't much room for airflow with any conventional CPU air cooler, as even an SFX power supply leaves barely a few centimeters in space between it and the low-profile coolers. The GPU has its own direct intake on the side, and the case supports a fairly wide range of sizes. If you plan on using the 2.5" drive mount on the top of the case, be aware that it can put pressure on the 8-pin connector to the actual graphics card if it's on the side of it instead of the end, but this would depend on the actual card length. Cable management is practically impossible in this case. There's literally just enough room for your parts, cables, and space for airflow. If you enjoy RGB and tons of lights in your PC, this case isn't for you. Almost nothing from inside the case is visible on the outside. This wasn't an issue for me, but everyone has different preferences. Overall, very good case; 9/10. One point deducted for a slight lack of airflow options. ... show more

This is the best mini-ITX case if you're going for "smallest size case" possible with your build. That said, this case will only fit a select limited number of specific graphics cards. You are limited in all three axis; length, width, and height. My MSI GeForce GTX 1070 Quick Silver 8GB OC card (dimensions: 279 x 140 x 42 mm) is just barely too long at 279mm; the front mesh faceplate touches the card when trying to secure it back on the case after graphics card install (I could probably just push it on, slightly bending the front mesh out a bit and secure the faceplate, but I'm not sure that's a good idea with the graphics card's heatsinks right there), so I bet anything 275mm or under would fit, even though the docs online say 267mm is max length possible. My card is also too wide, something I didn't think about...see pics for reference of the card's power connectors, the PSU's power connections (8pin+6pin) won't fit. Luckily the card's height is only 2-slot, because that's the max height the case can fit. A lot of current powerful cards are 2.5-3 slot height so they won't fit this case. In the current market where new graphics cards are very, very hard to attain, you can only use a specific number of about 25-30% of them, which makes it nearly impossible to get your hands on one that would fit this case. In simpler terms, IMO it is 3-4 times harder to find a graphics card that would fit this case than getting a normal high-end graphics card right now, which is already extremely difficult to do. I would only buy this case if you already have a graphics card for it that you KNOW is going to fit, because if you don't have a card that fits already, it will be EXTREMELY hard to find a specific one that will fit...I know that because that's what I intended to do, and I am now returning this case because I can't use it with my current graphics card while I try to get a new one. I will be going with the CoolerMaster NR200/NR200P case, which is still a SFF mini-ITX case (just slightly larger than this SG13 case) but fits all size graphics cards (up to 330mm and 3-slot wide!!!), and I believe it can even fit a 280mm long CPU cooler radiator. That way going forward I will be able to upgrade any part of the build without concern of fitting inside the case. So I'm sacrificing a slightly larger case for significantly easier [and cheaper] maintainability/upgradability. It won't fit in a backpack as easily as the SG13 case, but that's a small price to pay IMO. ... show more
