I LOVE this mannequin head, I bought it because I want to be a hairstylist one day, It works so well to do hair styles on and it’s so fun to play around with, I just tried heat on it the other day (lowest settings) and the curls came out so cute! I tired it again the next day with a different curler and agin cute! When the curls came out I noticed the ends got a bit fried… haven’t heard anything about washing her hair but will try some oils and wig shampoos to try and fix it, maybe fabric softener? But other then the small fry.. I literally never stop messing around with it!!!! Get this right now ... show more

Update! I’m changing my review from a 5 start to a 4 star because the hair doesn’t curl very well on this manniquin. I have been a cosmetologist for over 20 years and now my daughter has decided to go to school for cosmetology as well! She wanted her own manniquin that she could practice on at home so we chose this one. The hair on the manniquin is only 60% real and 40% synthetic, however we are still very please with our purchase! I did end up buying her another one from another company that is 100% real hair so that she could color it. This one I think will be good for her to practice haircuts on. MY MANNEQUIN HEAD CAME TODAY, A LITTLE EARLY, WHICH IS GOOD. IT WAS IN A PLASTIC BAG PACKED VERY NICELY IN A BOX WITH A MANNEQUIN HEAD TRIPOD I ORDERED ALSO. THE MANNEQUIN HEAD COMES WITH A FREE TABLE CLAMP & SOME HAIR STYLING ACCESSORIES WHICH IS NICE. ONE PARTICULAR ACCESSORY IS A SQUARE PIECE OF HOOK & LOOP ( VELCRO ) WHICH I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THAT IS FOR. THE LITTLE BAG IT WAS IN SHOWS A PHOTO OF THIS PIECE OF VELCRO ON THE HAIR OF A MANNEQUIN BUT ALL THE WRITING IS IN ASIAN ( JAPANESE, CHINESE OR SOMETHING ) SO I HAVEN'T ANY IDEA WHAT TO DO WITH IT. IF SOMEONE CAN HELP ME WITH THAT I WOULD APPRECIATE IT. THERE IS ALSO ONE BAG OF HAIR TOOLS THAT SHOW HOW TO USE THE TOOLS IN PHOTOS BUT AGAIN, THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE IN CHINESE OR JAPANESE. THE HAIR IS VERY FULL & THICK & THE SCALP ON THE MANNEQUIN LOOKS JUST LIKE A HUMAN'S ANY PLACE I PART IT. NO BALD SPOTS. THE HAIRLINE AROUND FACE & NECK LOOKS JUST LIKE A HUMAN'S. THE HAIR FEELS REAL & LIFE - LIKE IN MY OPINION & SEEMS TO BRAID JUST LIKE HUMAN HAIR. I DID DO, AS SUGGESTED BY MANUFACTURER, & GENTLY COMB THROUGH HAIR STARTING AT LENGTH ENDS & MOVED UPWARDS, RATHER THAN STARTING AT SCALP & MOVE DOWNWARDS. THEY SAID TO DO THE FIRST COMBING LIKE THAT SO I DID. AM SO PLEASED THAT IT HAD NO SHEDDING. ADVERTISEMENT STATED IT HAS MINIMAL SHEDDING, BUT I HAVE NONE SO FAR. THOUGH I WILL SAY, AFTER I PLACED MANNEQUIN ON TRIPOD & PICKED UP PLASTIC BAG IT CAME IN (TO PUT OVER HEAD), I DID SEE A FEW STRANDS OF HAIR ON FLOOR THAT OBVIOUSLY WERE NOT MINE. SO I AM THINKING THEY FELL OUT OF BAG THE HEAD WAS IN. THEY COULD HAVE BEEN LOOSE HAIRS ON HEAD OR FELL OUT INTO BAG DURING SHIPMENT, I DON'T KNOW, BUT I HAD NO SHEDDING DURING COMBING & AFTER 1ST COMBING, I COMBED AGAIN FROM SCALP DOWNWARD TOWARD ENDS OF HAIR & STILL HAD NO SHEDDING AT ALL. THE HAIR REALLY DIDN'T NEED COMBING UPON OPENING BECAUSE IT WAS NOT TANGLED, BUT BECAUSE OF THE LONG LENGTH OF HAIR THAT HAD TO BE PACKED IN THAT PLASTIC BAG, IT WAS WRAPPED AROUND THE HEAD & ACROSS FACE, I GUESS TO KEEP STRANDS SMOOTH. THAT IS WHY I COMBED THROUGH IT. ALSO, HAVE READ SOME REVIEWS ON MANNEQUIN HEADS WITH HUMAN HAIR THAT SAID BUYERS FOUND DEAD NITS FROM LICE IN THE HAIR. WELL, I HAVE FOUND NONE IN MINE & THERE IS NO ODOR TO THE HAIR AT ALL. VERY CLEAN. I AM VERY SATISFIED WITH MY PURCHASE & WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND OTHERS TO BUY IT. I’m still not sure why my daughter wanted this… it’s creepy!!! It’s not even a little sturdy unless it’s clamped down and that’s just even creepier. My daughter likes to leave it in those unexpected places, nothing like walking into a room at night and seeing this!

This will be great for practicing updos but the hair wont even hold water. I don't know how I'm going to practice cuts when you cant get the hair fully saturated. I wasn't expecting a 100% human hair but at least something practical for practicing. Im afraid to even touch an iron to it. No doubt in my mind its going to melt. I don't know how this got such high ratings. Disappointed once again by Amazon for high ratings on a mediocre product. ... show more
