Confirm the source USB-C port has a DP or Thunderbolt icon, and the monitor's USB-C port has upstream markings like "PC IN" or "Computer". If not, check the official website for DP Alt Mode support. If flickering occurs, try to reduce the resolution. Why doesn't the monitor's video output reach 4K or 8K? The USB C port of your devices must support DisplayPort Alt Mode. 4K@60Hz is widely supported. 8K is also supported, but only if both your laptop and monitor need DP 1.4 with DSC compression.     • Works Great With Wired CarPlay

I needed a new USB-C cable for wired CarPlay in my Nissan Armada. I had been using an Anker cable and it worked fine, but I was occasionally getting delayed CarPlay connections at startup. I was also running into an issue where Google Maps, Apple Maps, and Waze would sometimes show a blank map screen when I started navigation. To be fair, I had found workarounds for both issues, and after years of using wired CarPlay across different vehicles, I know these kinds of glitches aren’t uncommon. I prefer wired CarPlay anyway because I’m an audio nerd, so when I needed another USB-C cable I figured I’d try something a little higher-spec than the Anker. The specs are honestly overkill for CarPlay, but I had read that a higher quality cable could improve the initial handshake between the phone and the head unit and provide a more stable connection. Since switching to this cable, the startup delays and blank map issues have completely disappeared. I can’t say with 100% certainty that the cable was the cause, but the timing is pretty hard to ignore. For about $12, I’m very happy with the purchase. Had big issues connecting 4K laptop through 4K dock to 4K monitor ... these great quality cables solved this instantly. Other cables claimed 4K, these claim 8K - I figured if they have the bandwidth for 8K they should have no problem with 4K. So cannot speak to use for 8K, but working fine with 4K, power and ethernet all running over these to the dock and the display from the dock to the monitor. I purchased this monitor display cable as a replacement for the one I had because my old cable would only work if it was positioned at just the right angle. I was hoping a new cable would solve the problem, but unfortunately, I’m still having the exact same issue, so it’s pretty clear that the problem isn’t actually the cable. That being said, the cable itself seems great. It feels well made, the connectors fit securely, and it was exactly as described. It was also easy to connect and worked just as it should when positioned correctly.     • Does NOT work for Carplay iPhone 17

Very nice cable. However, it does NOT work with the iPhone 17 for Apple Carplay. We got this cable because the only cable we had that worked was a 6 inch high Gbps rated one from an external SSD (Sandisk). This Silkland cable did actually work temporarily. On initially testing I though we'd found the solution, but after ~15 minutes of driving it cut out and wouldn't reconnect without turning the car off and back on. We've tried several other cables and nothing seem to work aside from the SSD cable. However, we picked up a Bluetooth/wifi Carplay adapter and that's worked great so far. ... show more
