Works like it should, easy to hang up on a frame.

I just threw out my old "heavy blanket" style backstop that was falling apart and supplied the mice and birds with fibers for their nests. It was big and heavy and my frame could barely handle it. Hence I was a bit skeptical about this backstop being so thin and light (in comparison). It arrived promptly and was fairly easy to hang on my frame. The included carabiners and rope came in very handy. I had it hung and snugged up in about 5 minutes. I would highly recommend a frame of some sort from which to hang it so the top and sides can be securely stretched out. I made one out of steel piping. PVC would probably work with legs long enough to lend stability. So far, I have only fired a few dozen arrows at it with my 35 lb bow. It positively stopped the field pointed arrows with zero damage to the backstop. I can't even tell where the arrows hit; they bounce right off with almost zero velocity meaning they don't go flying off in another direction; they pretty much drop and fall. I may bring it down when winter comes (our rainy season) or just cover it with a large tarp. So I don't know about durability in weather just yet but so far, Its the best backstop for the money.

Worth the money.

Functional, it will stop an arrow shot from 20 yards away with a 48 pound compound bow. The arrows bounce but are not damaged. It is very heavy which could make it difficult to setup. I was lucky that I had a good place to hang it. I think it is very durable and should last a long time. Note the pinhole created by the impact at 20 yds. Every impact is another arrow that did not get lost in the woods. Worth the investment.

I Was Skeptical

This works well -- it does what it's supposed to. I use it on a stand touching the back of the a target. The cloth is not tight behind the target but the arrows that hit it just bounce slightly and drop to the ground. It's much better than I thought it would be.

Strong and Heavy

Using a 45lb bow, field points were able to punch small holes in it. It did a good job at stopping arrows that completely missed the target without sustaining too much damage. I suspect that regular use will punch enough small holes to wear it out eventually. The price you pay for that kind of stopping power is found in the weight. It's heavy! The included rope isn't strong enough to tie up the backstop with sufficient tension. The carabiners are sufficiently strong, but annoyingly sharp and barely open wide enough.

Super heavy weight woven material, stiff as can be, rivets are well set into it

For the square footage and the coverage, this was a good buy. It covers about 25% more area than similarly priced backdrops. I do not know what this material is. I've seen some of those backdrops described as being Kevlar. Anyway it is a woven material that comes out very stiff yet flexible enough roll up and roll out. The rivets are set very well in this backdrop. This comes with a long nylon cord with metal clasps. I'm using green painted ranching/farming fencing stakes that have tabs perforated in it and sticking out (to accept heavy weight chicken wire or other livestock metal mesh. I simply push the rivet rings into the tabs of the stakes. Because this is so long and so stiff, i circle the other end of the backdrop around the other fencing stake and that whole thing stands up. I could suspend it but, the self standing works fine for me. I'm using a low weight bow and haven't missed my target yet. My other bow, is still very modest in draw weight for target shooting. I don't think that given the distance I'm shooting with these relatively light bows, that I can pierce this backdrop.

Thicker than I thought it would be

Nice thick, heavy material. I've only tried it out a few times, but I think it will last quite a while. I'm only shooting a 25# bow from 18 meters, so there is not a tremendous amount of force behind the arrows, but they bounce right off, making a small dent in the material. I installed 2 4x4 pressure-treated posts 11' apart and strung a wire between them. I hang the backstop from the wire, letting it hang somewhat loose. This setup works great! No missing parts in my order, and the grommets are installed tightly. Very happy with my purchase.

Works as I hoped

I had read reviews and decided on 5x10 45pound backstop. Got back into shooting 45 pound recurve and ha a few arrows miss and go into a neighbors yard. (I was horrified) Got the backstop hung up and took a few intentional shots and the material stopped my arrows. Pleased.

it works!

I'm using a 30lb recurve and 35lb longbow both at backyard distance - about 15 yards. This 5' x 5' backstop is tough and heavy, and the misses (more than I want to admit) hit with a "THWACK" and drop gently straight down. In examining the backstop there is absolutely no damage, not even a mark where the arrows struck. Good hardware supplied, could use 5 v. 3 grommets on each edge, but I just used "tarp-grippers" and they hole it fine. Dump your old moldy straw bales and but one of these.
