Description

In a world without words, what hope is there for humanity? Once upon a time, the King of a peaceful land committed an unthinkable transgression when he stole his people's speech. After this betrayal, he leaped into a yawning chasm known as The Abyss never to be seen again. The Princess mourned the loss of her father and cried ceaselessly until her tears entombed her in a crystal teardrop. Many years after these events faded to memory, seven rainbow-colored lights flew from The Abyss. These rays of hope manifested before seven unlikely citizens, who suddenly found themselves drawn to the crystalline Princess. Now it is up to these newfound heroes to brave the depths of The Abyss and find the secluded King to free the Princess from her luminous prison. Explore, fight, and produce items to grow stronger as seven distinct heroes in the tragic world of Silent Hope. This isometric dungeon-crawler harkens back to the glory days of action RPGs but with a modern flair. Let me start off with the good stuff. The game is really cute, graphics have that semi chibi look, bright colors, cute monsters, the whole bit. The controls are easy to get a handle on, and there is some depth to the game play. The only negatives so far, there is some frame rate lose and input lag in spots, but I am sure a patch will fix this. The only major negative, is more if you plan to collect the day one style game. Get it from somewhere other then Amazon. They will throw your game into an envelope and ship it off, so all that throwing around and slamming down, the box will come to you bashed up terribly. As of right now, it only crinkled the art book, and the box looks like it was a kick ball, the game itself wasn't damaged. ... show more

    • Cute, addicting Diablo II-eques dungeon crawler
Style: Silent Hope
I had been waiting for this game since I first saw it at the Marvelous booth at PAX. It looked interesting and there was something nostalgic about it. It uses graphics based off the Rune Factory franchise, a plus in my book It's a fun game that is easy to pick up and is not punishing to play, not to say it's it's unchallenging. The levels do get repetitive and the crafting system is quite shallow, imho. It's still a good game and it's nice having 7 playable characters with multiple skill trees. However several class are not as fun or effective to play, but ymmv based on playstyle. If you are craving a procedural dungeon crawler with a random loot system this is a great pick. ... show more

    • My personal hidden gem.
Style: Silent Hope
When I bought the game I wasn't sure what to expect. It arrived as if I had brought it home from the store; no dents, brand new, and with all the accessories. The gameplay is simple. You choose between several characters, jump into the abyss, kill monsters, go back up to the surface and upgrade your characters. Rinse and repeat. Every character has their unique weapons and fighting styles. Although the game is repetitive, and simple at first, sometimes you just want a game to disengage your brain for a while. I still haven't finished the game because of how much I enjoy fighting in the abyss and change my play style with every character. The soundtrack is good. I wasn't sure at first if I would enjoy the game, but I have fun playing it. The story is intriguing, and it is a hidden gem I never expected to play. ... show more

    • Longtime ARPG Lover - This game hits the spot!
Style: Silent Hope
If you're looking for a cozy ARPG for the Switch, this is gonna be your jam. My ARPG credentials go back decades to Diablo II, Titan Quest, Diablo III, Torchlight 1 & 2, Grim Dawn, and others I'm probably forgetting by this point. I've spent easily 3000+ hours grinding ARPGS, absolutely one of my favorite genres. Each character has a base class and two advanced classes to play around with, each coming with three different skills that synergy with each other. My favorite thing; each character has two health potions, and the only way to restock is to return to base. But there are crystals on most levels where you can swap your character out for one of the other six, effectively giving you 14hp pots total for a dungeon run. I've also noticed that when you level a character up higher than the others, the grind is slower, but the others will catch up FAST, so they can all stay on track with each other easily enough. Please try it! Edit: I will come back and edit this review if It doesn't hold up, but from what I've found I have 3 more story dungeons after this one, and two post-game dungeons. I work full time and have a family, so I can't no-life the game, but for a few hours a day it's a blast! Oh! And I know each character having 3 skills doesn't sound like a lot, but remember you're effectively taking all 7 into the dungeon each time. You have 21 skills available to keep it fresh, but only 3 are available at a time. ... show more

I can't stop playing this game! It is insanely fun, easy to grasp, and has the perfect difficulty curve! If you like the Rune Factory series of games, you will love Silent Hope! If you have never played Rune Factory games, this is a great place to learn the basics. Real-time combat, 7 unique weapon types each with 3 classes to unlock, massive dungeons to explore, the ability to craft new weapons, rings, and earrings for stronger attacks and defense, add magistones to your equipment for elemental boosts, farm and raise animals for ingredients to make stat boosting dishes. The list of fun goes on and on! I cannot find a single thing about this game to complain about! ... show more

    • Great accessories box but game is repetitive

This is a beautiful game set and it is so rare to find an amazing set like this that comes with everything this one does! The game was fun for a lil bit but after a while you realize it’s the same thing over and over and over and I nvr finished. Planning to sell or give away eventually.
