Box (very heavy) contained all the needed parts. It was much easier to assemble than I expected. I did it in about an hour by myself. And I'm an 80-year-old woman. The cube organizer is good for the price. The color and style are nice and exactly as expected, and the measurements were accurate. The backing is fairly cheap, so I chose not to use it and instead placed the organizer directly against the wall, which worked fine. I am only giving it 4 stars because the first organizer I received was missing hardware and shelves. I ordered a replacement instead of returning it, that process was very frustrating. The replacement was shipped through USPS instead of UPS, which added two extra days to the delivery time. They required me to drive post office b/c it was too large to leave in the mail box. Really?!?!?! Next time, I will return the defective item and reorder a new one. Overall, the organizer itself is good quality for the price, but the replacement process needs to be fixed. ... show more

    • DO NOT BUY!!! Been trying to get hardware from them for 4 months now
When I first purchased this item, I had read the reviews that sometimes it didn't come with hardware. They had said that you just fill out a simple form and they will send it to you in around a week or so. This has been proven extremely false. I will provide a timeline of my experiences with the Ashley company: Mid-October: ordered item. It came without an assembly manual and with no hardware. Serial number is on the assembly manual, which I didn't realize it's also on the box at that time, so I called the help number. I was on hold for 4 hours before I finally gave up. Late October: I talked to someone on the Ashley website's live chat. They took my information and said that they put in a request for the hardware to be mailed to me. Mid November: I still hadn't gotten the hardware after a couple weeks, so I talked to the live chat again. They said that the warehouse was being rearranged or something, and that I should wait another week or so for the order. Early December: I still hadn't gotten the hardware, so I used their online form to put the order in myself. Late December: I still hadn't gotten the hardware, so I sent an email with all the necessary information to the customer assistance. When I got a reply, I was asked to reiterate all the information that I'd already given them again, which felt very insulting after all I'd been through already. I sent them the information again. They then replied that I had an order in the system and that I should expect its delivery late January. Mid-February: It is now mid February. I have still not received the hardware. I'm not sure I want to try anymore. It's beyond the return date, so I can't get my money back. I just wasted $40 on their repeated promises to send me the hardware. At this point they should just send me a refund or a new one. I know they won't. Moral here is, do not buy from them. It's not worth the hassle, and it's a waste of money. ... show more

    • No real wood anywhere and not very sturdy.

These are pretty flimsy. Made from pressboard that is NOT a full half inch thick. Only five panels to put on back of five of the nine cubbies and you need to hammer ten thousand tiny nails in to hold those in place. I chose not to put those on and just have them braced against an iron rail system. Little contact paper circles included to cover the screws and pegs that hold this thing together. I am 75 with mobility issues and was able to put it together alone but if you have a helper, even a ten year old, it would be very helpful to hold pieces together since it falls every which way. There is no wood in this even if that is implied in description, it really is just press or chip board. The cubbies will not hold a binder or files, just too small but I am using it for my extra fabrics and sewing tools so I can make it work. I do like the veneer over the upside of the shelves. It is only a glorified contact paper but for my needs it protects the fabric and makes sliding it off shelves easy with no damage to the fabric. Is expensive for what you get. ... show more
