We ordered 2 of these, one box unfortunately was missing 2 shelves. Instead of going through the hassle of returning them we just made the bottom area bigger and used one of the shelves from the other unit, which I think I like better. Easy to assemble, sturdy and worked for our space.

Literally took months for me to finally take a chance on this item and purchase it. I'm very hesitant when it comes to buying furniture online. I got this in the mail, dragged the box in cause it's heavy af and I'm built small. Wear gloves with rubber so you'd have an easier grip of the wood pieces and to prevent splinters. Yes, it is possible, but it didn't happen to me. Anyway, assembled this colossal figure on my own and it took only 45 minutes for tiny little me to finish it. What took the most time was because I cannot make up my.mind where to put the damn beautiful thing. Once I put all the books in there, man, it felt like i built an entire house on my own. ;)))) Seriously. I'm no handywoman, a little fragile, but I was able to do this. This bookcase is.amazing! Made my living room look sophisticated. It's tall enough to fit lots of books and slim enough to fit any small space. No problems with any cracked o damaged pieces.
