This mount is great for installing on any existing vinyl siding. My old light did not have an box and was just simply screwed into the siding with the wires coming from the wall this wasnt very safe so i searched for a good box to protect me and it and decided to try this one. This fit the siding well with only a thin gap that I used to caulking for which your suppose to use to make sure it's water tight. It is sturdy and allows the light to be square to the house using the box built in the mount to store the wires and create a sturdy mount. Highly recommend this product.

Easy to install. I drilled a 5/8" hole to pull electrical wires through. All Good . I did mount a 2x4 on the inside of the structure to screw this mounting block into . Durability unkown at this review because its only been about 3 months . I would buy it again if required

Pulled this out of the box and was pleasantly surprised at how heavy and solid this mounting block is. I have pretty standard 1/2" lap siding, but this didn't fit very well. Except on the top portion, there were large gaps on the sides and bottom after installing. Used silicone caulk to make it waterproof, because it would have been easy for water infiltration the way it was. The 3 knockouts made it flexible to use in many situations, but I wish there were more options for screw holes. The other negative is there is little to no depth to this "built in electrical box". Almost no space for the wires, and you have to rely on your fixture having enough space to enclose all the wires and wire nuts. Overall it is a decent, but not great, mounting block. The fit against the siding is the biggest flaw.
