This is one of the best thing I've ever bought for myself... has made it so much easier to work from home, hotels, and coffee shops. My only complaint is that it breaks easily (I had to get a replacement for my first one). I would suggest storing it in the original box when not in use.

I tried another laptop extended screen before this one and this is far superior. I love that I can put it on either side of my computer, it's light and easy to use and it packs up easily. Great addition to my laptop.

Another Update!: Has stopped working completely. Sounds like this is a common problem looking at how many other 1-star ratings they have that say the same thing! Backlight shows when USB-C (power cable only it seems) is plugged in, but nothing happens when the included HDMI-to-mini-HDMI cable is plugged into any source. Have tried two separate computers, both with history of working with this and other external monitors, and Android tablet, to no avail. Called customer service line and got voicemail after many rings, saying they are receiving a high number of calls. I wonder why! Sent email as customer service has suggested. No response in 48 hours via email. UPDATE: Change to 3 Stars! :After installing and finding out the issue with the cables, I looked for an alternate product before returning. There are none that have the build quality. So I have decided to keep it. It is still inconvenient that this requires BOTH my Gen 1 USB-C port to power, and the HDMI port to view. But it is more solidly attached and stays in place (and is more flexible on viewing angles) than anything else I have found. Original: Only after it arrived and I opened the manual did I find out why this was not working just like my last screen. This does not work with any other USB-C port except the absolute most recent version, USB-C 3.1 Gen 2! My previous extended screen (Duex Plus by Mobile Pixels) worked just fine with my USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 port. Unfortunately the construction on that unit is a bit flimsier and I broke an important part very shortly after starting to use. This looked like (and still feels like) a more robust design. BUT it requires the use of BOTH the USB-C port and the HDMI port to operate with my newer (less than a year) Windows 11 laptop (because as was FALSELY ADVERTISED, the HDMI port cannot generate power for the unit. It requires both ports to work. SO sending it back. And pissed about the waste of time and resources that would have been skipped if the manufacturer/reseller would have just been honest in the advertising. ... show more

PROS: good picture quality fairly easy to set up and use does what it's supposed to do CONS: Heavy for just a screen super cheap cord has fallen off twice in on a few uses The added weight is only annoying if you are using your laptop on your lap, but it does also add noticeable weight to laptop bag. The cord looks and feels very cheap. It takes some effort to insert and remove from port, so I purchased a backup because I expect it to break - though it has not yet. Screen has fallen off a couple times even though I have been very careful to listen for the click when attaching. Both times were when I was adjusting the screen. Maybe I just need to be more careful. Overall, an incredibly useful accessory. I would purchase again. ... show more

Can't say enough good things about this monitor. It is light and portable, gets compliments every time. Lifesaver for multitasking and working with colleagues. This has been pretty sturdy and reliable as it gets tossed about in the bag going back and forth to meetings. Since it attaches to my laptop I'm able to be a bit more mobile without having to find a large enough flat desktop space to place everything. Highly recommend and hope a touch screen version comes out some day. For those that don't know it may require a bit of trial and error to connect to a work laptop because not all allow plug and play. Mine requires both the hdmi cable and USB to work bit I also had to get a displayport adaptor to hook up to my laptop. But for my personal laptop all I need is the USB cable and it is powered and displayed. ... show more

I found looking for a laptop extender screen to be one of the most arduous decisions / purchases I have ever made (shockingly). I purchased 5 different options and BY FAR SideTrak was the BEST! I did not want to purchase the SideTrak because of the price. However, after attempting to install all the other options, there was no other option than the SideTrak! Not only did it plug in / set up instantly, but it is so light, the screen definition / brightness is perfect, and the way that it attaches to the laptop and swivels makes it the perfect screen for working on the road when you might be in a tight space! Even with the price tag, it's now the best purchase I've made for work productivity on the road. (*I almost went with a simple and much less expensive standalone screen, but needed table space for something like that while on the road isn't optimal to me....). I love the SideTrak and so happy I bit the bullet! ... show more

Screen works as advertised. No issues there. The cables provided by SideTrak are horrible quality. Two have already broken, and I am waiting to get a third now. Most recently, the cable connection snapped off when I was simply unplugging the monitor. Given that this monitor is useful when traveling, breaking a cord at the start of a work trip is a big annoyance. Find another place to get the right cables, and make sure you unplug them when packing the monitor. ... show more
