I've played many rounds of Side Effects but it did get a bit stale after many rounds. This booster deck is the perfect way to switch things up and allow for a bit more chaos when the core game becomes a bit too predictable. On the other hand, once you've had a few half-hour long rounds on an otherwise average 5-10 minute play game, it's sometimes nice to go back to basics. I played Side Effects for the first time with a friend and had a blast. The tongue in cheek morbid gameplay makes for a really fun evening. I knew right away I had to buy the game and, when I saw there was an expansion pack, knew it was going in my cart too.
