I spend most of my day on Teams audio calls and I was finding that wearing headphones all day was fatiguing. The mic from my laptop and the mic from my external camera all caused echo issues for others on the calls. This mic solved the echo issues and improved my audio (according to others) As you can see in the image, I have this connected to my computer via USB and audio out connected to an external audio amp and speakers. The speakers are inches behind the microphone and, because of the unidirectional (cardioid) microphone pick-up pattern, the audio that the microphone does pick up is able to be effectively cancelled by the MS Teams and Zoom echo cancellation.     • Perfect Home Office Microphone - Once You Set The Mode Properly
It is a good looking and high quality "feeling" microphone when you set it up. Windows 10 recognized it and seemlessly installed the drivers. My initial soundchecks using MS Teams and Zoom to record a voicemail yielded the same sound quality as my $40 webcam microphone. When placing it on my desk I noticed that the mode button had 3 different LED modes - not the 2 modes indicated in the included tiny documentation for either "live" or system audio output for the 3.5mm jack. A quick Google turned up a better user guide that showed that the 3rd mode was "Mic" mode that enables all of the special proprietary Shure DSP, EQ, level and noise reduction features. Once I turned on that mode the sound quality was just as advertised and a lot better than my webcam microphone. Now I don't have to mute my mic in meetings for fear of feedback or having attendees hear me type or get up and go to the kitchen and I can still talk from the kitchen and everyone can hear me. ... show more

Bought this for home office teleconferencing and have had a great experience so far. Worked right away, easy to set up with Zoom & Teams. Have had coworkers comment that they hear my voice and only my voice, does really well at blocking out background noises. Exactly what I was looking for, wanted a clear mic that wouldn't pick up any noise from the speakers and blocked out computer fan, A/C, etc...got what I was looking for.     • Not impressed with the sound quality at all.
The MV5C was easy to set-up like every review I read had said, and it was immediately recognized by my work computer and in TEAMS. I was hoping this to be replacement, but after I got everything set-up my and tested this in TEAMS with my colleague said they could not really tell a difference, maybe slightly better. I tested this on my personal computer afterwards, and I have agree with them. This is actually a downgrade from my headset I was using, and on my laptop the audio only sounds slightly better. I think this might have been good four years ago when it released, but there have been a lot of improvements audio in the last four years with WFH and streaming/podcast culture taking off. I can't recommend this unless your using an older computer or cheaper headset, because you can do better with what is out there today. I will say it is really easy to use, and I was actually impressed it didn't pick up key strokes and does a good job of mitigating outside noises. ... show more

I’ve been using the microphone for several months now and it’s a vast improvement over my previous headset microphones. The mic has good pickup at a variety of distances (1-3’) and works fine with the background filtration on my Windows system. People report I sound clearer and I never have to adjust the microphone volume during meetings up any longer. If you have a dedicated home office space, separate from other goings on, than this is a microphone you should consider. ... show more
