Really folks… It’s a shovel. What do you want to know? It is well built and strong… Mostly. The shovel section is steel and is bolted to the aluminum shaft. That part seems very solid and tough. There is padding around the shaft for your digging comfort. The plastic handle is a friction fit with two bolts torqued down to hold the parts together. This is a potential point of failure. Some assembly was required but it was an easy 5 minutes to complete it. It digs good holes in the ground. If you are looking for a smallish spade for general gardening work this should work well for you. It reminds me of the GI shovel my Grandfather brought home from WWII except that the GI shovel was collapsable. ... show more

This mini spade is a useful tool to have around, particularly for people without garage space or people with a small garden. This could also be useful to have in the car. Due to the spade shape, I do not see this as a snow shovel. It could chop ice though. The spade and neck are a thick steel, the midsection is aluminum, and the top of the handle is plastic. There are noticeable imperfections in the spade due to the sharpening process, but it's a shovel, so I don't particularly care. If in the future I wanted to replace the handle, any standard tool stick would be easy to install on the spade, though this spade is more narrow than a standard spade. ... show more

This is a fine small (~30 inch) shovel. It comes disassembled and requires some assembly (screwing the shovel head and handle on to the shaft), but assembly is not particularly challenging and everything fits together. It does not feel like the sturdiest or strongest shovel, and the short length limits its usefulness, but it is perfectly fine for spreading soil in a flower bed or other simple gardening uses. ... show more

I was looking for some gardening utility. I'm over 6 feet (~1.9m) and the pictures got me. I thought for sure it was an adult woman using it. Once the package arrived I jumped back online to see it was a little girl! And all of the other places it says "31 inches"...LOL. So yeah, as I put this together (very simple, btw) I couldn't help but wonder if it was gonna fall apart or become weak, or have the shovel fall off, in my experience shovels are usually made of of several components but welded together in some fashion. I transplanted several plants yesterday and got the opportunity to use this. It's a much better size than the ones the sell in HD/Lowes, always either small handheld type or large, having something in the middle is great for gardeners who are working in mid-size beds. Comes disassembled but very easy to put together plus all the hardware is included. You just need to tighten 4 screws and bolts then you're good to go. Using this primarily in my garden and it gets the job done when my regular sized shovels are too big. Overall I'm happy with this its lightweight and sturdy.
