Description

Experience refined simplicity with the Shoei RF-1400 Full Face Street Motorcycle Helmet, a model of sleek sophistication available in solid colors for the rider who values minimalist design paired with maximum functionality. Released in 2021 and emerging from Shoei's extensive heritage in helmet innovation, the RF-1400 has been rigorously tested in Shoei’s wind tunnel to optimize aerodynamics and ventilation, resulting in reduced lift and drag compared to its predecessor, the RF-1200. This helmet features six air intakes and four exhaust vents meticulously engineered to ensure your head remains cool under any condition. The airtight window beading creates a robust wind and waterproof seal, while the CWR-F2 shield offers clear visibility and UV protection, enhanced by a centrally located release button for smooth operation. Constructed with multiple layers of fiberglass and a dual-layer, multi-density EPS liner, the RF-1400 provides exceptional impact protection. Its exclusive Max-Dry interior material wicks away sweat twice as fast as traditional nylon, enhancing comfort for prolonged wear. Removable and washable, the liner ensures hygiene and durability. Weighing just 3.64 pounds and now available in 3XL sizes, this helmet meets Snell M2020D, DOT, and FMVSS 218 standards, offering a blend of safety and style suitable for any street rider.

Size: XX-Large Color: Basalt Grey
Great ventilation i wear with glasses no issue. Easy to use Great directions in the owner manual. Definitely will buy again unless they make a better model. For the price I would have liked it to come with a comm system. Helmet was received in new condition no issues. Most comfortable helmet i have ever bought. The helmet does whistle with the visor up. ... show more

  • Best Helmet I’ve Ever Owned
Size: Large Color: Black
I’ve owned many different helmets over the years, half helmets, 3/4, and full face helmets. This one is by far the best out of all of them. My main two helmets before this one were an Icon Airframe Pro and a Bell Qualifier, the Shoei surpassed both in every way. Here are some categories: Comfort - 5/5, very comfortable helmet once you put it on, no pressure points or hot spots. Only issue is putting the helmet on and taking it off, it’s super tight as it’s supposed to be but it tears the back of my ears, drawing blood. Another thing to bring up is that I always wear sunglasses under my helmet when I ride, this helmet fits glasses perfect without forcing them against your head at all. Sizing - Fits pretty standard, I wear a large in the Icon helmet and a medium in the bell, I chose a large for the Shoei and it fits perfect. Ventilation - The vents in the helmet work very well and I can feel the airflow particularly on the top of my head when they are open. The only complaint I have is the large vent on the forehead is awkward to operate and is hard to tell it if is open or closed when wearing gloves. The visor opening mechanism takes some getting used to but once you figure it out it works great. Quietness - This was my main reason I purchased this helmet, I had heard great things about this being one of the quietest helmets on the market. After riding with it, it’s significantly quieter than both my icon and bell. Although it does not completely eliminate road/wind noise, it does do a good job muffling it. When you have the visor open, you can hear everything but as soon as you close the visor everything gets so much quieter. Clarity - The helmet has great visibility and not really any blind spots. My only complaint is the visor fogs fairly quickly even with the breath guard. The pin lock should eliminate this but I haven’t tried it yet as it’s not a huge issue. Bluetooth Compatibility - This helmet fits a Bluetooth headset well, has built in pockets for the speakers and is easy to install. Quiet enough that I can clearly hear music even up to 80+ mph. Weight - This helmet feels a few ounces heavier than my bell, I don’t know for sure but it feels heavier when holding them. This is no problem at all as the incredible aerodynamics counter the weight when riding. Aerodynamics - All I can say is wow. The aerodynamics of the helmet are amazing. From low speeds to higher interstate speeds, the helmet has significantly less drag than any other helmet I’ve used. I ride an aggressive club styled cruiser and even with the more laid back position when compared to the upright sport bike position, it performs very well. On the interstate I’ve noticed that when I turn my head, there is almost no difference than when you are looking forward, I say that as a good thing as there is minimal drag and wind resistance. Quality - The helmet feels solid and well made. From the outer shell to the internals, everything feels and looks like a quality product. Extras - The helmet comes with a clear visor, a breath guard, a chin curtain, and the pin lock insert. I can’t speak for the pin lock as I haven’t used it yet, but the other components are nice. Another factor to consider is the availability of aftermarket visors, last year I couldn’t find many at all but now there are a few companies that make great visors for the 1400 for a good price. A quick overview of the helmet, overall an amazing, quality helmet. Although it is expensive, it is well worth the money not only for safety, but also for looks and rider comfort. ... show more

  • Give it time if moving from an RF1200
Size: Large Color: White
First, the vendor had this shipped in microseconds and arrived exactly as it should have. I previously had an RF1200 which was great. I had lost a fair amount of weight and the RF1200 was too loose (because my face was thinner, pads were too small). Rather than ordering new RF1200 pads I figured it was about time to upgrade the helmet. I’m still not completely sure I shouldn’t have just got the pads. My melon measures 59.5cm at the equator, placing the size in the middle of L for both the RF1200 and the 1400. The RF1200 fit great immediately. The 1400 … not so much. To me it felt too tight and trying to put it on was a reverse birthing process. I thought I was going to get a nosebleed. The donning process got smoother, but for the first week or two it still felt tight and there was a hot spot at the top of my forehead which the 1200 had never caused. Now, the helmet is breaking in and more comfy. I still have to adjust around the ears when I put it on, but it’s not uncomfortable to wear anymore. The hot spot seems to be gone (hopefully). So, in comparison to the RF1200: Is it quieter? Yes, maybe a little bit, but not drastically. Is the wind drag better? Yes, and I do notice a difference here. Is the visor annoying? Absolutely, there is a little button you have to push and the handle is centrally placed. It’s awkward to open. Also, it’s a pain to remove. Is the field of view better? Probably, but I didn’t have a problem with the 1200. Is it more comfortable? Out of the box, that’s a hard “no”. After break in, similar to 1200 (so pretty good). Is the ventilation better? I think it is. Is it heavier? Yes but I don’t notice it. To summarize, I do think it is a little better than the 1200 but not overwhelming so. The margin is very narrow. If you have an RF1200 that fits and works well, I’d stay put until a new helmet is definitely needed. When you do switch, you’ll have to be more patient with the break in process as it will feel tighter at first and take longer. If this is your first Shoei, I suppose all the above applies, most importantly expecting it to feel almost too tight at first. They are however world class helmets; your safety and life are worth every penny. ... show more
