It was a bit dark outside my townhouse so I thought some trim lighting would be helpful. This rope light worked out great for me. The only thing I had to do was add on cable tie holders in some critical areas. The clips it came with (10) weren’t enough for my liking. The metal clips came with tiny wood screws, but I bought longer ones at my local hardware store. The clips work good, but not great. If I had a straight run with no wood that I had to go over, they’d be okay at best. The one thing the metal clips do well, and why you should use the, is they keep the rectangular lights from twisting, and keep it straight up and down. The cable tie clips I had, and used, really anchored the light strip while going over the wood under my trim as you can see in the pictures… I started at one end and installed it til I was done, and then drilled a 1 inch hold under the eve and snaked it into my storage. I then plugged it into a short extension cord, and then into a timer so it would come on automatically. It worked perfectly, and I love the way it looks when I come home… time will tell how long it will last, but being LED, I’m expecting a long life… cheers ... show more

The media could not be loaded. First I want to say that the lights themselves are great. They're very bright and I like the option to dim them as well. Good selection of colors and various light effects - flashing, strobe, etc. My issue was with installation. They provide a bunch of metal track pieces that you screw in that are maybe 2 inches long, and the gap to slide the light in is around half an inch maybe? They fit the lights snug, which is good. But, it makes it very difficult to get the screws into the holes. I had to use plyers to drop the screws into the holes. So it was pretty tedious. Instead, I chose to use some Velcro with adhesive backing, to avoid using the screws, and makes it easier to adjust positioning if needed. But the biggest issue is they didn't include enough track pieces! Maybe it would have been enough if they mentioned how much to space them out from each other, but they don't. The instructions even showed putting all the track pieces together, which I didn't do, but that wouldn't have been enough for even a quarter of the length. I spaced them out about a foot from each other, and ran out at about 2/3 of the length. So my advice to the manufacturer is to improve the installation process and include more than enough pieces, or at least advise how far apart they should be to cover the entire length. ... show more

I purchased the 50FT LED RGB Neon Rope Lights Since I'm using in outdoor application (Deck Lights). I would need to cut the length. I understand that the controller needs to be waterproofed, I tried to call the support phone number listed on webpage. I've been trying for over a week and have yet to reach anyone. I wanted to find out if there was a waterproof box available to purchase or if Shine Decor could recommend a box that would work since this is a rather large controller. Nothing is listed on the website. Update - I finally received end caps for when the lights need to be cut for a desired length. It is my opinion these end caps should be included in the purchase of these lights. Shine Decor doesn't offer a waterproof box FOR the controller and I never did get any recommendations for a product that would fit the size of this controller. I had a hard time locating a WP box with a cord inlet and outlet that would fit my location. As far as the mounting track for the light and the lighting offered by Shine Decor, I'm happy with the lighting, The lighting made a huge difference vs. old lighting. I do like the RGB Neon color changing lights and would recommend them. This is just my experience with Shine Decor ... show more
