Description

Shimano is probably one of the world's best-known companies in the bicycle sector. Hardly any other manufacturer is as widespread as the Japanese component manufacturer. Since 1921, Shimano has developed countless innovations and product groups, such as the first commercial derailleur gears group for mountain bikes, the legendary XT. Shimano offers products in every segment, in every quality and in every price range - it is no surprise that they have been world market leaders in bicycle components for years.

  • Just Right
Just what I wanted to upgrade my Orbea Carpe from a 1x8 to a 1x10 speed.

  • Pretty good.
Only the small 11t cog is replaceable. It's also not as light as some of the more expensive units but no brick either (not sure of the alloy). At half the price of the next 10 speed sram cassette it's hard to complain.

  • Weak and feeble
Like a couple others on here, this cassette bent on me, only I had less than 100 miles on it. Update: Local Bike Shop replaced this one with another HG 50 and that one bent on the FIRST RIDE! They're replacing it with a SRAM to see if I have better luck with that.

  • ... with this and after 160 miles the chain got sucked in-between gears bending one gear
New bike came with this and after 160 miles the chain got sucked in-between gears bending one gear. Can not pull cassette apart to straiten out the gear as the lowest 8 gears are press fit/riveted together.
