The boots in the photo show all black with no western stitching on the sides. There were other color options in this listing that showed the stitching, but I specifically chose the black faux suede that showed in photos with no stitching. I like a plane boot, as pictured, with just the semi-stretchy side panels. These boots do not have the side panel. Will probably return because I bought with a specific outfit in mind and the western style does not fit my vision.

The media could not be loaded. I got these for my wife. She’s picky. So the question of the day… what would she think of these boots? Drum roll please… YES! She liked them a lot! She said they’re really cute. Ok, so first test passed! Now, let’s talk shop. I was very happy of the workmanship and the materials for these boots. They look nice and don’t feel cheap. The leather is real, so very happy with that. Now, mind you, these are not solid leather uppers like traditional cowboy boots, I don’t think. Inside, it feels like perhaps some sort of neoprene. I might be wrong there, but it’s just my observation. So I think the upper is some other stiff (and lighter/cheaper) material and then is covered on the outside with real leather. The listing says the soles are wood. I’m not totally sure about that. I can’t confirm or deny this… I do feel like they feel lighter than I would image wood-soled boots to feel. Still, I really can’t complain. For the price, I think these are a great buy. If you’re going to be out riding horses all the time, perhaps these boots wouldn’t cut it as they aren’t that rugged. But if you’re going to go out for an evening to do some line dancing or electric bull riding (neither of which we don’t do, for the record LOL), these boots are probably perfect for such an occasion. Regarding how they fit, my wife tried them on and she said that they were tight. Still, we determined that they are probably still true to fit. Since we’ve all been on lockdown for the past couple years (in other words, she wasn’t wearing restrictive shoes all the time) and we live in Florida where everyone where flip flops and sandals, we figure that her feet have widened some. Mine certainly have. Also, these boots are pointy, which will tend to tighten on the feet as they taper toward the toes. So no penalty in rating for this. We both agree that they are true to size. All I can say is, if my wife likes them (even though in this case, she probably can’t wear them because of the tight fit), then it’s a very good sign. Five out of five stars. These are great boots. I think they run a little large but I like the fact that the top of the boot is larger because it works well for people who have a large calf. I love the color of this neutral brown because it makes the boot very versatile.

The deciding factor between 3 and 4 stars was the dent. Today I am wearing these for the first time, and they’re so cute! The only problem is one shoe is dented at the toe. I knew something was up last night when I opened them and only the right shoe had stuffing at the toe (both had it at the ankle/calve area). I can’t send them back though because I just put them and a pair of chucks in my luggage for the weekend. I’ll have to wear them! Sad face, so three stars for the regifted shoes that are actually cute.

First time I’ve had to break in some boots, but they’re very pretty otherwise. I recommend wearing some high socks with these or leggings or pants because around the calf area is a little loose in my opinion, but can differ from each person. I got quite a few compliments from others on these and they’re one of my favorite go-to boots when I’m wearing jeans. I think they’re worth the buy.

These are perfect for nearly any setting. They're comfortable and quality material. I think I could have ordered down a half size, but they still fit well as is. These boots go with nearly any outfit, and can be dressed or down. I'm pretty short so they almost hit my knees. I love them!
