    • Great utility for size and price
I read oodles and oodles of reviews for this and similar products before this purchase, just craving a space saver to hold my books. The product seemed to score high, but with some common downsides. I don't think that it really HAS those downsides though! Let me lead with this: it's really not hard to make. The instructions are half a step away from doing it for you, seriously. I dont know if they updated them since some negative reviews, but they're ikea quality numbered pictures. Speaking of, 90% of my apartment is from ikea and this shelf fits right in with the sleek-minimal-modern vibe of the other lovely flat pack furniture around it. It's also a pretty great size. It fits right into a tiny corner that I hadn't been able to otherwise make use of because of how cramped it is! It's little short for a wall mount if you have moldings along the bottom of your walls. I was a little worried about it since there seemed to be an agreement that the material wasn't sturdy and the shelf wasn't stable. I have not had any such issue, unless I purposefully put all large, heavy books on one shelf. Which leads me to another thing! Many reviews claim the shelves are too small for large books, but I'm a little confused about this. I have huge textbooks that fit on there just as well as the small books. Now, contrary to my glowing review here, nothing is perfect. My biggest issue is the bottom drawer. Had I really thought about the given dimensions, I could have reasoned it would be a small drawer, but I didn't. It is too small to hold even a standard folder, which was a bit sad. Also, I just have a personal beef and firey dispassion for allen wrenches. Its even worse when you can't leverage them well because of a tight space. Kind of annoying, but manageable. Lastly, the adhesive for the letter label stickers is really sticky! Be sure to have some cleaner on hand to get it off. To sum it all up, it is: - stable enough to stand alone if books are stacked smartly and you won't be stubbing toes on it - sturdy and big enough to hold textbooks yet small enough to squeeze into a corner - goes together easily and quickly, even without power tools to speed it up - instructions and labels are pretty much foolproof - great value for price - looks pretty cool BUT: - small drawer - small crevices slightly hard to reach with tools during assembly at times - might not be suitable for those with a lot of books or prone to accidentally running into furniture (without a wall mount, anyway!) ... show more

I love this bookshelf. It’s a great conversation piece. Assembly was somewhat frustrating. The instructions could better identify each piece. I found an extra hole in the top of the base which totally confused me when I tried to connect the first shelf to the base. The finished product looks great. Bowing a little due to the weight of the books. The shelves could be a little wider to support larger books. I hope it lasts. I would buy it again. ... show more

The instructions weren’t the most detailed (think IKEA: full of pictures) but it was still easy enough to put together. Seems sturdier than other, similar bookshelves, due to the small triangle piece at the bottom of the lowest shelf.

I read reviews from 2021 and I guess they learned all of the pieces where labeled and super easy to assemble. The shelves themselves were complicated because they are at an angle but it took maybe 30 mins to put together. I did choose to sand repaint it. So if you want to paint over it you will need to sand so the paint sticks . ... show more

I love this bookshelf! In fact, this bookshelf has started a new obsession for displaying my books in more creative ways! I do wish it did not wobble when heavier books are moved buuuuuut that may be more of “user error” than design flaw.

    • Not the best quality but it’s good for what you pay for
Easy to assemble, pretty sturdy and good value for the money. Only downside, the screw heads will be exposed. They didn’t come with a cap or anything. Minor detail but it would’ve been nice to have something to cover the screw heads.

    • Cheap bookcase
It arrived scratched and dirty. Assembly was awful and when it’s done you will see the screws everywhere (and it takes a lot) so not a nice finished piece. Not worth my time in returning.
