I needed a pair of windows to go inside a chicken coop. I was concerned with ventilation and airflow in the upper part of my coop where my chickens rest at night. I also wanted something I could easily open and close when the weather begins to get colder. Space limitations also meant I needed smaller windows and these fit the bill. I decided to mount these horizontally and they function equally well in either the vertical or horizontal alignments. It was a simple matter of cutting a hole to accomodate the BACK of the window, with the outside frame hanging over the hole so it can be secured. The window pane can slide back and fourth from either the closed or all the way open allowing air to circulate through the included screen. Since I have chickens, I decided to reinforce the screen by putting .5" galvanized hardware cloth over the screen and bent BEHIND the frame. When it comes time to screw the window in place, the screws keep the hardware cloth fastened to the frame securely. (No racoon will be tearing through this screen) A family came over and saw the windows and really loved how they look and complimented me. More importantly, the chickens all now crowd near the windows to roost in the evenings. They also spend more time in the coop during the day time since daylight now illuminates the interior more.

I use this product for my chicken coop that I am building. The windows seem to be very sturdy and I’ve got them installed right now the only negative I guess you could say is the spline that holds the screens in wasn’t installed properly and was kind of hanging out In some places. I’ve put them back in …not a big issue but I guess. Since windows are in a big demand the company was in a rush to get out their windows. Still, the windows are great and just work great for the chicken coop. The picture that I hope to attach will show the window, but I’ve also got a security screen I put on top of that for predators to stay out.

I decided to take on a small project; converting a 5' x 12' enclosed cargo trailer to make it a 1-2 man camper. It needed a couple windows to do this, so I found these and they worked perfectly. Yes, they are small-ish, but perfect for my application. In my case I had to cut the hole in the metal siding and install the window using aluminum pop rivets. I laid a thick bead of silicone on the backside of the window flange, then into the hole. I centered it and then used tape to hold it in place while I drilled some holes and put in some rivets. Once installed I have been using the window for interior light and ventilation and they work perfectly for this. The windows themselves open up from the bottom and have two locked positions, half-way open and full open, which is a hole 12" wide by about 9" tall. The screens work well to keep hungry mosquitoes out too. These worked out great and I would buy them again. Well worth the cost.

Great! I installed 2. Some more light in the shed. I still need more light so I will look for the size above 14 by 21 and install it in the adjacent side. I was able to install the 12 by 18 between 12 inches off center studs. Easy install. Hammered and no craking or else. Happy!
