My cats love all the flavors we’ve tried from the Sheba Pate Perfect Portions but this Signature Seafood is the favorite of our extremely picky eater — our 18 year old senior cat with hyperthyroidism. She likes wet food without chunks — pate style but it must have a LOT of gravy or broth. This Signature Seafood flavor seems to have the most liquid/broth in it and it’s her favorite. We tried several of the Sheba flavors with her but this is what she consistently ate. We also like that it comes in two smaller portions. This keeps the food fresher for my finicky eater. She rarely eats all of what we put out and once it’s been open and doesn’t smell right she definitely won’t eat it. That’s why the portion sizes of this Sheba have been so fantastic! It keeps it fresh for her and the portion sizes are just right. Since she was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, it’s been a chore to find foods our senior cat will eat. She’s hungry but is hard to please. This is one of only 3 foods we can get our 18 year old cat to eat with regularity and we have to rotate those out. Of those, this has been consistently her favorite. She became so finicky a few years ago, and refused to eat nearly everything we tried. We spent hundreds of dollars trying out foods and she got down to 6 pounds. We tried this out of desperation when she suddenly stopped eating the previous food we found that she would eat. Usually she has to be coaxed to eat but once we discovered this she will eat the whole portion and she will ask for more food during the day -which is a miracle for her — instead of us pushing it on her throughout the day. The only con is that when you peel off the top, the liquid drips a bit but that’s a very small drawback for the convenience and practicality of the packaging. ... show more

My cat has been eating this for six months. The food is very soft and my cat licks it up. Very little chewing is involved. This food is very digestible. But some cats might be allergic to the fish oil in this. The containers are too small for a cat to eat out of. You need to put this food on a plate or into a bowl for your cat to eat it. I use this food to supplement my cat's dry cat food. My cat always has a bowl of dry cat food available. If you only give your cat Sheba, the instructions say to give 3 to 4 servings per 5 pounds of body weight. If your cat weighs ten pounds, you need to give them eight of these containers every day, and that makes this a very expensive cat food. If the foil covering on one of the plastic containers is slightly open, it means that the food inside the container is bad, and you have to throw it out. Before giving this to your cat, make sure that the foil cover is completely closed. The containers are difficult to open, and food always gets on my hands. I used to give my cat expensive canned cat food, but he ate less and less of it, so now he gets this. I don't think this food is the best quality, but my cat eats it. This food is also not very filling, because right after my cat eats it, then he goes to his bowl of dry cat food, and he eats dry food. I have to find a new canned cat food that he will eat. ... show more

I have a finicky and spoiled cat. I've thrown away so many kinds of food that he wouldn't touch. But he loves this stuff. It's kind of pricy when a cat wants it so many times a day. I tried him on all the flavors, and he will eat them all, but the chicken and tuna is his favorite.
