I purchased this product because I was looking for something to moisturize my skin. I use other Shea products so I thought I would try this one. I have been pleasantly surprised that it not only moisturizers but it also leaves skin soft. After I tried it on my skin for a couple of days I decided to use it on the ends of my hair that are extremely dry. I braided my hair after applying it and the next morning I was surprised at how soft and moisturized my hair was. The ends were nowhere as brittle as they have been in the past. I bought this for my skin but my hair seems to love it as well. Yes it is slightly grainy, however I warm it up and it works beautifully. Will purchase again. It's not easy to spread out of the jar. I warm it up between my hands and get it to melt and then spread it. I use it every night on my feet then put socks on. I've had the softest feet and no calluses whatsover! Even when I got a pedicure my friend who does nails was very impressed!!!

I have purchased this a few times in the past. I switched to shea butter for my eczema because its healthier and it really locks in the moisture for hours. I put it on my baby to who also suffers from eczema, and I do notice a difference. This brand does have a stronger smell to it, but it wears off after you apply it. I read the reviews and saw that there was a variation in the consistency of what other customers have received. I initially purchased this at my local grocery store. My hands have been extremely dry. I've tried everything from Eucerin, Curel, Gold Bond, O'Keefe's, Olay, and everything in between. Nothing has helped. I've made my own body butter in the past, but it started to get expensive. I grabbed this and it helped tremendously! So much so that I came to Amazon to purchase another container. The one from Amazon is exactly the same as what I purchased from the store. It's solid, creamy, and has a little grit to it. Everything melts perfectly once I rub it in. The smell and color are the same as well. I don't melt it in the microwave. I just use it straight out of the container. I know there is a debate about the color/consistency of raw Shea butter. For me, this works. I still have to reapply throughout the day, but my hands aren't irritated. They feel soft and moisturized. I plan on using this on my body too. So far, this is a great product for me. Unfortunately, like their other products, this one smells terrible to the point of not being able to use terrible! I've tried to mix with other products but it's smell overwhelms the best of them. Hadn’t realized I could use this for my body but when I did, my body has never been so smooth. Even missing days where I shower I feel smooth. This product really just is amazing. You can put this on your lips before bed and wake up to perfect lips like nothing. Amazing.

I live for this 100% raw shea butter! I use it on my skin daily as soon as I get out of the shower when my skin is damp not completely dry I find it goes on smoother this way! I stay moisturized through most of the day! I use it on my lips as well it last longer than lip gloss.

The first time I bought this product, I was really impressed. It was silky smooth, had no scent, and moisturized very well. The second time around I bought two containers of it. However, the consistence was not he same as the first purchase. The product this time around was a bit gritty, and almost felt like micro plastic balls (they weren't but it sort of felt like it), and it was difficult to get it worked into the skin. After doing some reading online, this seemed to be common recent complaint for lots of buyers. To resolve it, I slowly heated up the product to a liquid state and stirred it until it was completely clear. I have Very dry, sensitive skin, and eczema (A Very chronic condition). This product is 100% shea butter without fragrance or other ingredients. This product was a very pleasant surprise! I tried it when I was having a very bad episode of eczema. (If you have eczema, you will understand.) It soothed my irritated skin, and after a few days, my skin looked normal! I'm very careful about the emollients I use. I try to use simple, identifiable ingredients, even avoiding fragrances, pigments, and many other irritants that are supposed to be "natural" and organic. I love this product, it’s actually helping my eczema. I gave a low score on the ability to spread easy because it’s a little difficult. However it works so well I can overlook that. The more you rub it in your hands the easier it becomes to spread.

I buy this all the time in a local store, but lately they have been out. I ordered some on here and I am really confused. The consistency is nothing like what I have been using. I looked to see if maybe it was expired, but cant find an exp date. I am not sure if maybe the formula changed, but this stuff is a mess. It melts very oily, kind of like coconut oil and the little bead looking things make a terrible mess when trying to work it into your skin. there is no way I could put this in my little ones hair, I'm afraid the bead things would be a disaster to rinse out of her curls. I dont know if heating this would fix the problem, but I am going to give it a try and see what happens. ... show more

I think because I purchased this when the weather has been colder, it affected the product. It is kinda chunky and isn't very easy to spread how it came. I've seen other people suggest emptying contents into another bowl and heating that up and either whipping it or just storing it once it's cooled in a glass container, then it works great. So I'll probably try that ... show more
