I ordered the SHALL heavy duty 7-1/2-inch Wire Rope Cutter to use to cut bicycle cables. Bike cables are 1.2 and 1.6mm thick, so they are relatively easy to cut. However, the important thing is to get a clean and crisp cut to avoid flattening out the cable or allowing the cut end to fray. The Shall cutters are up to this task, and they perform quite well. The thick, and sharp cutting jaws snap the cable in two without having to exert any undue pressure on the handle or use both hands. There are many fancier and more expensive cable cutters on the market, but these Shall cutters are all that's needed for cutting bicycle cables and the like. 5 stars.

I've never owned cable cutters. I got this on a whim and man-o-man they do not disappoint. I've always used wire cutters for cutting wire fencing and small cables. I would use my angle grinder for larger cables. This tool cuts my fencing with little effort and the same is true for cables. I haven't use it to cut very large cable yet but for my small stuff it rocks.

I had a large chore to complete in the backyard. I had to put the final touches on a fence around my yard. I used this cable cutter to cut different size cables. It was sharp and I was able to cut in one shot most of the time. It made my job much easier.

I was impressed by the overall weight and quality of these cable/wire cutters; much heavier than I expected. I ordered them for cutting wire of various thicknesses for crafting purposes. My only critical comment is that the span of the cutters is challenging for small hands. I have to hold them way up towards the "business end" rather than the handles to achieve a comfortable and functional span to fit my hands. If you're male, this won't be a problem! I recommend - thank you!

This looks and feels like a very good quality tool. Very successfully Designed to easily cut cable and rope. I tried it on various sized wire, rope and cable ties. I am very pleased with the cutting action and comfort level

I have the Pedro's cable cutters and these SHALL cutters are almost identical. They cut cleanly through cables and housing. I would say Pedro's is a bit higher in quality. But, at about half the price for something I use so infrequently, these go from 4-4.5 stars to 5 stars all day long.

These are made to cut heavy steel wire like hog fencing. Plenty of leverage and hard jaws. Makes cutting the thick wire easy.

I have been looking for some wire cutters to cut my new bike cables. These SHALL Cable Cutters are perfect. You need very clean cuts to fit the cut end of the cables into holes and these cutters made very clean cuts. At less than $15, these are a great deal.
