I would classify these boots as work boot "style". The upper is very thin. They look to have a synthetic lining so it's hard to tell if they are actually real leather. The included shoe laces for my size 9 were 54" long. I replaced them with a 40" pair that work much better for me. The plus side is they seem to be pretty comfortable out of the box, which is likely due to the minimalist build quality. I try to avoid boots with synthetic uppers as the lack of ventilation/breathability can cause several foot issues. Time will be a better judge of the quality and value of these boots. Ordered 2 pairs 1 for me and1 for my grandson, mine fit exact size my grandsons were way too big , problem no size on the actual boot , just on the shipping package, so easily could of been in wrong shelf, no problem sent them back for refund. They look good and feel good to walk in.

Update: For 15.99, you can't beat them. I've just bought 2 more and, when there was just 1 more left, I bought those as well. There are way too much "Pride" looking shoes, but ignore the rainbow garbage and appreciate a cheap pair of shoes that will get you maybe 200 miles of wear and tear. First review: These fit fairly well and the harder grid over the soft sole has added life on our concrete walking paths. It's so hard to buy shoes online, but these were close enough. 12s are just a tad loose, but I don't trust cheap 11s or 11.5s anymore. ... show more
