If you're looking for basic but stylish plate mats, these are it. While they are not machine washable, they are fairly easy to wipe clean, though some elbow grease may be required when scrubbing off more stubborn food spots. These seem sturdy and do look quite nice on our table. I would order again.

I'm puzzled by some of the negative reviews regarding these mats not lying flat. Yes, mine came LOOSELY folded in half in light plastic, not vacu-sealed, and went from package to table with nary a crease, laid perfectly flat and are beautiful. The colors (I bought a set in ivory and a set in blue) have a very pretty subtle marbling effect and a subtle sheen to them, not a boring monochromatic color at all. Very satisfied.

It’s fine it works. These look nice and were exactly the style I wanted, but unfortunately they didn’t hold up well after washing. Out of 4, one completely unraveled and became unusable. Hope the others last.

I purchased the burgundy shade and was not disappointed. I think the color is great for fall and can also be used for Christmas. I know some people mentioned the rolling was an issue but they flattened out just fine. :) Will purchase in different colors.

I had been looking for some place-mats which would work for my Fall colored tablecloth...but most that I found in the retail stores were either a bright pumpkin orange, a golden yellow, or dark brown. I did not want anything to bright or dark on the table & finally found these while on AMAZON. Look nice & have great texture...so far easy to clean off spills (taco sauce). Love them!
