I'm not super heavy and my calves are normal and they are so tight in the calves and I upsized to a large to be super comfy lounge pants, and I tend to not grab them first because when you sit they aren't super comfortable to wear.

These are SUPER great for the price! They're mid weight, solidly made, and super comfy. I'm 5'5", maybe 120ish pounds and a solid size 4. I ordered a medium because I WANTED them to be on the larger side and they're great. I work in a kitchen where no one really sees me and I can wear whatever I want (including sweatpants) and these are awesome.
