  • A top quality storage cabinet!
Color: Granite Size: 36" W x 18" D x 72" H
Pros: 1. This was well packed with plenty of styrofoam and protective plastic. So the parts were received undamaged. 2. The parts seem like they will go together to make a sturdy, attractive storage cabinet 3. Each type of part is clearly numbered with a part number that corresponds with the instructions for assembly, so anyone who can follow directions should be able to assemble this. However, cons: 1. Don't believe anyone who says that this can be assembled in a short period of time. There are so many parts (5 pages of them in the illistrated parts list), that it takes at least an hour just to locate, count, and check off all the parts. Each of the doors is in two parts. Each of the side panels is in two parts. And the back is 5, count 'em 4 panels! Just counting the screws alone, there are: 86 of the #41 screws 8 of the #52 screws 12 of the #42 screws 1 #53 screw 18 #54 screws 16 #17 screws 16 #16 screws 2 #55 screws, plus wall anchors, and 2 #61 screws So the person who answered a question about assembly, saying they put the second one together in 30 minutes was simply... I won't say it. But you know what I'm thinking. 2. At the end of my hour spent in parts inventory, I thought that the #53 screw was missing. That is used to secure the locking rod. I thought the keys to the cabinet were also missing. I rechecked the box and all packages. Definitely no keys or #53 screw. (see update) 3. The box was very big and heavy. This cabinet will be for basement use, and we are aged and use a stair climber to go to the basement. So we had two options for getting it down to the basement. Either use a luggage strap to secure it upright on the seat of our chair climber and lower it remotely, or unpack it, assemble parts of it upstairs, and lower it in assembled pieces for the final assembly on the basement floor. We don't have much floor space down there for assembly, so are opting for the latter. Update: We finally found the mssing keys taped to the door handle recess. I had expected them to be with the other small parts. But I have also read that these cabinets come with a variety of keys, not just one key for all. So that clued me to finally check to see if it was taped to the door with its matching lock. And there it was! We also finally found not one, but two of the #53 screws. When the instructions say to first do an inventory of parts, they don't tell you that far along in the assembly instructions you will find out that the #53 screw is already screwed into the locking rod assembly and you need to temporarily unscrew it in order to fasten the second rod to it. They also don't tell you that a spare #53 screw has been enclosed in the magnet package, marked only #23 for the magnet part. So I was really surprised to finally see this tiny screw clinging to the magnet. Once I had found these parts, assembly was time consuming, but straightforward. The instructions, were good once we had located the keys and #53 screw. I am a 74 yo female with lung and heart problems, so I spaced the assembly out over three days. Hubby was able to hold corners together, and support doors while I fastened them. A second pair of hands is helpful. I unboxed and assembled the door panels and side panels upstairs, and then took parts to the basement for final assembly. That worked better than trying to manoever that huge heavy box down our basement stairs. After all is said and done I am extremely pleased with the design of this cabinet and the way in which it went together to make a high quality, sturdy storage unit. I have recommended my son get one for his garage. He's an engineer, specializing in design of sheet metal enclsures. I know he'd like this. ... show more

  • Excellent product! Excellent product!
Color: Red Size: 36" W x 18" D x 72" H
Wow! I am so impressed with these cabinets. I purchased 4 and chose the red ones because I liked the color. They're beautiful. They arrived in 4 boxes, which were sturdy and well made. One of the boxes actually had some damage but the cabinet inside, due to its excellent secure packing, was undamaged. The cardboard was thick and sturdy, which I really discovered when breaking down the boxes. Inside, styrofoam sheets were used to pack the parts. I'm not a fan of styrofoam but it did its job beautifully. Nothing was damaged! I have not found that to be true with other cabinets that I've purchased from big name manufacturers like Husky. At first, the task was a bit daunting as I looked at all the parts. I was preparing myself for holes not lining up, bent pieces, etc., but encountered none of that. Instead, EVERY piece lined up perfectly. The screws were easy to install and I was able to make one cabinet in 45 minutes, just taking my time and working alone. I say this because you do not need help. These were the BEST cabinets, or really any furniture, that I have purchased that required assembly. Not one piece was missing and it all fit together beautifully and they are really nice looking. And sturdy! Kudos to the machinery! Well done! I give this company AAA+ and if you're on the fence about purchasing them, climb off and push that purchase button. You will not be disappointed! ... show more

  • All by Myself, I Built this Thing, All by myself (Sing to melody of old rock song)
Color: Graphite Size: 36" W x 18" D x 72" H
I love this storage cabinet. And I was really proud that I assembled it totally by myself. If I can do it-- 5' 4" , small, older gal, than anyone with good analytical skills and the screwdriver provided can. Yep, I put this 6 ft. tall cabinet together with the one long skinny screwdriver provided for free. You really don't need a battery screwdriver. The hand screwdriver has a really strong magnet top to pick up screws. Seville thought of everything! The Seville company gets major kudos for its directions. All the parts are top quality. Nuts and bolts are sturdy and you won't shear out the tops when screwing them in. ( I have sheared screw tops with electric drivers) What made it really easy was the fit and finish of this DIY cabinet. Everything lined up really well. HUZZAH!! Really, the directions say it's best to put together with two people and I agree. In the final stages, when I was putting the doors on, I had to remember some of my ballet moves. At one point I was standing on the bottom leg of a 3 step stool with one leg and balancing the door with the toes of my other foot to line up and screw in the door. So unless you know ballet, use two people. When you are assembling this, there are so many parts. But there is a schemata provided. You couldn't see the parts that well in their bags so I took sandwich type baggies and put all the different nuts and bolts in separate bags. I wrote on the bag the part number or letter and the name of the part. I put all the baggies in a shoe box. That really helped keep me organized. The other cabinet in my same workroom is a Gladiator. This Seville cabinet is about $100 less expensive and I think is better made. The Seville doors are somewhat shiny and the Gladiator doors are matte finish. But this Seville cabinet came with really sturdy locking 6" wheels and the Gladiator did not. I have already appreciated those wheels. The only thing I would say is that in the future, the decorative door fronts may get scratched or dented if you are prone to throwing tools around and don't take care. Be sure to keep a couple of micro fleece cloths in the cabinet and use those to dust and clean to a shine. Don't have to use soap! That's all. Great buy. You won't be disappointed with this cabinet. ... show more

  • Easy to assemble, good quality, deep shelves hold a lot, very robust casters Easy to assemble, good quality, deep shelves hold a lot, very robust casters
Color: Granite Size: 36" W x 18" D x 72" H
Seville Classics UltraHD Solid Steel Rolling Lockable Metal Storage Cabinet Locker Organizer w/Adjustable Shelves for Garage, Warehouse, Office, Classroom, 36" W x 18" D x 72" H. Item number: UHD16236B ASIN: B00WNNYSJG Purchased from JJY STORAGE & ORG for $299.99 Pro's.. .. - Instructions were pretty good though the print was quite small and you really had to study the pictures carefully to know the orientation of certain panels and how they fit together. There was plenty of room on the pages to have made the print much larger and that would have really helped. - Each piece had a sticker indicating how to orient the pieces before screwing them together - well thought out - High quality paint that is pretty robust, should hold up well to sliding things in and out of the cabinet shelves over the years - They supply a few extra screws of each type which came in handy as we ruined the threads on one of the black fine threaded machine screws - Very heavy duty casters of which two of them were of the locking type - The welds, while not the best quality, were ground smooth and each welded or pressed nut was in the exact location it needed to be in order to match the holes in the adjoining piece so there was no struggling or force needed to assemble this cabinet - The overall packaging was quite good and totally protected the cabinet pieces, there was no damage upon delivery. The box weighs 114lbs Con's .. .. - The back of the cabinet is made up of four separate panels that each need screwed into place. I don't believe this is as good as one or even two panel pieces because it does allow for a little torsion movement once the cabinet is fully assembled and you start putting weight on the shelves thereby causing the doors to scrape against the frame and not close. I had to loosen the front doors and realign them even though without any weight on the shelves the doors closed properly. Hopefully if I move this cabinet to a different location I won’t have to realign the doors again - time will tell. - There is no way to keep the doors closed without using the key lock meaning the keys must always be used just to keep the doors closed. I would have much preferred not needing the keys since I never need to actually lock this cabinet. Ok, there is a magnet at the very top and bottom of the left door that helps keep it closed - provided there is nothing on the shelves that is hitting the door when you close it. - The dimensions shown on Amazon and the Seville Classics site show the cabinet as 18" deep. However, nowhere on either site does it state the depth of the shelves or the depth of the front and back so you could calculate the shelf depth and I needed deep shelves so I took a chance. The shelves are 16" deep, the back of the cabinet frame is 1" thick and the doors are 1" thick thereby creating the 18" outside depth. This worked for what I wanted to put in it but it would have been good for them to say how deep the internal space was. There are a ton of these kind of cabinets to choose from, I chose this one due to its size, the wheels and reading peoples reviews. I’d buy it again even though I think it’s pretty expensive for a cabinet. My fear is that had I bought one for less, it would have been low quality, hard to assemble due to poor alignment of weld nuts and flimsy which this cabinet is not. ... show more

  • Fantastic High Quality Steel Cabinet!
Color: Granite Size: 36" W x 18" D x 72" H
My wife and I were expecting something more flimsy and light. This thing is a really well made solid piece of storage. We were really impressed as we were assembling it and after it was done and we picked it up from the ground with the wheels on we were impressed at how solid it is. The price is super reasonable for what you get. It wasn't difficult to assemble it at all. At first you kind of do feel overwhelmed when you see a LOT of pieces in the box but engineering did a great job in designing this thing. We did made a few mistakes and the manual (as most manuals are the same) it wasn't very clear as to where to insert some screws but we figured it out pretty quick and fixed the problem right away and it was easy to correct. Another thing to watch out is NOT to tighten all the screws on the back towards the end. Put the screws all the way in all round the frame on the back side but tighten them AFTER you stand up the unit because you will have to tighten some other screws from the inside part of the unit that way the screws are able to go into the hole properly. If you tighten the outer screws around the frame before the screws won't align with the holes and you are gonna have to loosen the screws and is a waste of time. This product is made out of really high quality material and looks and feels really solid and it will last a long time. We love the chrome look. ... show more

  • Should you buy it?
Color: Granite Size: 36" W x 18" D x 72" H
If you are considering this item, but are thinking about things like: What if it arrives damaged? Will it hold all my stuff? Is it sturdy? Is it hard to put together? Don't worry about these things, just order it. Let's discuss my experience. I got the package at my door, brought it in and saw the typical dinged up box. I opened it up to find the contents extremely well packed with more than adequate polystyrene sheets and spacers for protection. Without looking at the instructions I was able to guess what the parts were, organize them for the assembly and prepare my space. The instructions were clear and the parts were marked accordingly except the bottom; the sticker was upside down, but it was easy to tell the correct direction. Everything went together perfectly. There was a dent, but a towel and gentle hammer taps, fixed it, no problem. The doors were incredibly easy to install as well. The total weight of the assembled cabinet is deceptively light, which made assembly easier than expected. Total time to unpack box, organize, assemble and clean up was maybe an hour. I mostly used the included screwdriver, but did use a cordless drill set on low torque for some of the longer screws. We looked at many cabinets on Amazon and other sites and the same things kept showing in the reviews. After careful consideration, we chose this cabinet and, so far, the choice was good. As you build it, you will notice that it is very sturdy and high quality; likely a forever item. As usual, I will be updating the review if anything critical occurs. Order this with confidence. ... show more

  • Excellent cabinet choice for home garage storage but with a “bit” of assembly required. Excellent cabinet choice for home garage storage but with a “bit” of assembly required.
Color: Granite Size: 36" W x 18" D x 72" H
I purchased three of these cabinets for our garage. My experience started off a bit bumpy when FedEx delivered them in three battered boxes. It took 3 hours to assemble the first cabinet starting with the two sides, then adding the top and bottom, followed by the four back panels, bracing and wheels then the doors. Despite other reviews to the contrary, the assembled cabinet is quite sturdy and suitable for my storage purposes. Pros ~ really well engineered almost impossible to put together incorrectly because the screw holes only match up when parts are correctly put together. In this way the cabinet will come very close to automatically “squaring up”. However, checking to see that you have the same diagonal measurements with a tape measure will verify that the cabinet is square. Every part is labeled to indicate where it goes, top, bottom, left or right side. There are lots of screw attachment points that provide rigidity. A magnetic Phillips screwdriver is provided which makes installing short screws easier than it might be otherwise. Not many times that using a cordless drill screwdriver would be helpful because most of the screws are small. Cons: There are aspects of the manual that are easy to overlook especially the screw number required and where it does (or doesn’t) go. All of the screws and other small parts are packaged in cellophane packets and each packet has the correct screw number on it which helps a lot in not misusing screws. The manual could be clearer in “left” or “right” side during assembly. Basically, joining the sides to the top and bottom has the cabinet in an upside down, front to the floor position with the top and the mfg. logo facing the floor and on your right hand side to make it easier to then install the four back panels on what would then be on top of the assembled sides, top and bottom. The position of the bottom panel has to be correct or you will learn that it’s locking holes do not line up with the right side door which contains the lock mechanism,. Verifying that you have all necessary components before starting assembly is smart. Lots of Styrofoam to dispose of too. Each of the cabinets had damaged components from mishandling during shipping. Customer service was however superb. I called to find out how to obtain replacements and was asked to send photos of the damaged parts (mostly doors) and proof of purchase. After that, new parts arrived in about a week. I did all the assembly working alone but having the help of a second person would be wise. Finally, the most numerous screw in the package is a number 41, a short 3/8” screw. It is easy to overuse these screws in holes intended for another size screw so pay careful attention to screw placement, especially on the bottom panel back where the screw holes are intended for the black rubber bumpers which use different screw size. The screws come in a partitioned piece of Styrofoam that I adapted to make separate sections for each screw type but cutting up another piece of Styrofoam to make additional partitions. That way, I could use a marker pen to label each screw size partition and empty the screw packages into the box instead of fishing them out of the Cellophane packets or misplacing a package. The cabinet comes with three metal shelves that were very easy to install. However, I will be ordering additional shelves. It would haven nice if an additional shelf had been included with the package. Also, I bought the cabinets on Amazon but from a third party seller which did not concern me initially because they were returnable and less expensive than the manufacturer’s price. I noticed later after receiving the battered boxes that the mfg. recommended having them shipped by “freight” evidently because of damage issues and that cost may explain the mfg’s higher price. You would soon learning that all of the Styrofoam packing is quite complex making repackaging and returning anything quite difficult. Overall, I am really pleased with the cabinets. ... show more

  • Great Product!
Color: Granite Size: 36" W x 18" D x 72" H
I bought three of these storage cabinets and they really exceeded my expectations. The package is heavy but, once assembled, the units are very easy to move around on their excellent casters. The assembly instructions are very well written and clear. All three units came with all the required parts. This included a magnetic screwdriver that is the only tool required to assemble them. The magnetic strength isn't what it should be but still a nice unexpected touch. My only 'nit' is that it is easy to miss the fact that you don't install #41 screws in the two holes on the lower side of the rear on both sides of the back. Those holes are filled later with screws used to hold the bumpers (a nice touch) in place. No big deal to fix this but I was stumped for a few minutes thinking I had run out of the #41 screws. The units, once assembled, fit together extremely well for an assemble-it-yourself product. The side panels are not particularly thick steel but the frame has a very sturdy box frame construction. The doors and door locks operated properly first time I installed each set. The shelves fit firmly into place and are very easy to install at any desired level. I bought two extra shelves directly from the manufacturer (for $29.99) and found that four shelves works very well so you might want to think about that. The only other 'negative' I want to point out is that these are not really secure cabinets even though they do lock. The real panels are screwed in place with the heads on the outside. Parts are provided to secure them to a wall but the straps could easily be cut. This is not an issue for us but it might be for you. ... show more
