Background: Wanted a storage solution to hold a variety of small electronic components while I tinker with microcontrollers, single motherboards, and sensors. This one fit the bill, very nicely. Was debating between the 44 unit one or this one. But with space restrictions, this one won. Pros: 1. Decently sturdy; seems to hold some good weight. 2. Good organization of 6 large and 4 rows of 5 small drawers that can store some long stuff without being too bulky. 3. Very portable and compact to fit on top of my table and does not move, despite of not having any sticking mechanism. 4. Has well thought out layout. I like the top of the unit having ledges to store items. 5. Most Important - Made in the USA. Cons: 1. Removal and placement of the drawers can be tricky. Especially while placing them back, as they sometime cannot get into the grove. If full, some of the items may fall down into the lower drawer. 2. There is some movement in their locked position. Improvements: 1. It would be good to have some type of locking mechanism to hold the cubbies in place, especially, if you are tying to move it around. 2. A backdrop across the entire back would be helpful. Bottomline: For the price of around $25 - 30, you cannot go wrong with this. It has good storage and good quality made locally. I purchased this for my classroom and will bring it home with me when I retire! The plastic is stiffer and thinner on the exterior. The drawers are more pliable but sturdy. I started using it today and filled up with a lot of items. That being said, I feel it’s sturdy and strong enough that it won’t get knocked over. You can remove the drawers individually and they easily fit back in. The front and back have a small lip that either makes it easier to grip and pull and/or keep the drawer from sliding out all the way. Another cool feature is the top has a small storage space for random/found items. The sizes of the drawers are just perfect for small to medium items. For reference, I fit about 10 regular-sized dry erase markers in a drawer. If it can last 4 more years of use in a broadcasting and video technology classroom, I’ll update on how it fares! I’m very pleased with this purchase. I bought this 24 drawer bc of a prior purchase last January. I bought 4 of the 16-drawer units. They were for SD card storage that my 7th and 8th graders use almost every single day. I’m hoping this holds up and improves workflow! Just got this today, June 27, 2024 Ok, just to put to ease whether the frame is plastic or metal....it is plastic. I put a magnet to it and it doesn't stick. The plastic is nicely done and colored so it does indeed look like metal. The whole thing is light too so that's kinda a giveaway. The back of this organizer is 'open', meaning dust can get inside of this. I have mines pressed up against the wall so that takes care of that. I was under the impression that this thing had a solid backing; it doesn't. The plastic drawers are very thin and flimsy plastic. You can actually twist it. With that said, I think because the plastic used is soft there is a very unlikely chance that the drawers will ever crack or break, jmo. Also, the drawers can easily come out if you tug on it good enough. The lip to hold the drawers from coming out is so minuscule that it really doesn't do anything. Just keep this in mind in case you pull out a drawer and the entire drawer comes out and all its contents fall out as a result. This thing comes fully assembled with all the drawers in place. All you gotta do is take it out of the box and give it a good blow to blow away all the debris and you're set. I use mines for all my model building needs and this thing does the job perfectly. It holds all my sanding sticks, nippers, putty, tweezers, pens, masking tape, etc. etc. For my purposes it does what I need it to do, and am glad it's not made out of metal since the metal ones can rust. I bought the IRIS toolbox with wider drawers on the sides and this size of drawer in the middle. Love that one. Both have a really nice top for storing baskets and other items (unlike others I looked at). I have the toolbox closest to my teaching table and wanted some supplies near my regular desk. I am not a big fan of using the thin long drawer in the center of my desk. The drawers are perfect for all the supplies I need. Great purchase. The drawers slide smoothly but don't fall out. The plastic is a nice and clear, not yellowed. The design is compact. And, again, the top has a little ledge around it so it's great for small baskets or organizers (Walmart haas some clear plastic make-up oranizers that fit perfectly). ... show more

I needed a storage box in order to hold small parts for my 3dprinters. I had tried a small toolbox buit it did not meet my needs. This storage orgnaizer was perfect. Has all of the small drawers that I needed to hold various nozzles, attachments, and parts for my printers. Bonus points for it fitting within the shelf space that I have available.
