This is a set of two white ceramic platters that I will use for so many occasions, from everyday snacks to holiday dinners. The sizes are perfect with one larger and one smaller, though neither is what I would consider overly large or too small. (I photographed them separately and together next to a bottle of water and a can of soup, to hopefully give an idea of their size.) They are in classic glossy white which goes with everything, from fancy dishes to casual, and of course white also works in well with just about any color scheme, whether that means Christmas dinnerware and decor, or Thanksgiving, Easter, Fourth of July, or just any regular day at home. The ribbed rim is also a classic touch that means these platters work for just about any occasion from fancy to casual. They are made of ceramic stoneware, so they are breakable if mishandled, but so far have proven to be durable. They are also dishwasher safe. I really appreciate the oval shape of these platters, which is versatile and easy to handle. The largest one is not wide enough for a turkey but works well for a roast chicken. I have also used it to create a family sandwich platter as well as a large charcuterie platter. These work well for serving canapes and appetizers, and would look lovely piled with colorful fruits or vegetables. These would also look beautiful to anchor decor items at Christmas; I'm imagining placing three red pillar candles on the larger platter and surrounding the candles at their bases with snipped pine trimmings. They would look beautiful piled with pine cones and/or shiny glass balls, too. These are listed as being from a brand called "Vase and Vessel," and indeed came with a info card that says "Vase and Vessel" on it (and also includes a recipe for yummy salmon), but mine have the Kook brand stamped on the bottom. Despite this being an inconsistency, I do not mind because I have several items from Kook and have been very happy with their quality, so honestly I was happy to see the Kook name on the bottom of these platters. Overall, these platters are classic, glossy, elegant, and will work well with just about any decorating theme or color scheme. They are durable and well made, and are holding up to frequent use at my home. So far I have used them for several everyday dinners as well as steaks on Valentines Day and a charcuterie tray for Super Bowl Sunday. Next is Easter dinner and they will work perfectly for that, as well. I can tell these will get lots of use over the years.
