  • Great price for great performance
Color: Orange Style: Paddle Board
This is a great paddle board! I've had it for just over a year now and it's in great shape. While I have yet to take it out on the ocean, I've taken it out to fresh water bays that connect to the Pacific and lakes with high boat activity and lots of waves. It's a lot of fun, very stabile, and easy to inflate/deflate and roll up for transport. My partner has a Gili board and while it's a lovely board, I don't feel the almost doubled price tag is worth it. This is a fantastic board and price point, especially for beginners. If you do want to invest in any upgrades and plan to take this on longer adventures or less accessible locations I recommend the following. I appreciate the following are not included as this keeps the price point low for those who don't need the additional accessories. - A more comfortable carrying pack. I don't use the backpack as I haven't needed to hike to the water and I like to keep my board loosely rolled for fewer creases and greater durability. If I did plan to go to a more remote location I'd probably pick up a more comfortable pack as the straps are very thin and have no padding. - A convertible kayak/SUP paddle. Getting a convertible paddle, with a carbon shaft if you want to reduce weight, which allows you to equip two blades and row without switching hands if you're in a kneeling or seated position and you can still quickly remove the second blade for stand-up paddling. - There are options out there to attach additional mounts or clips if you look for them. They use strong adhesive to provide additional mount points on your board for things like carabiners or paddle carrying mounts or even camera mounts. I haven't found a need for those but it's nice to know you can take an awesome board like this and update it to meet your future needs. I slide my paddle under the bungee cord and it stays just fine when not in use. - An electronic pump that plugs into your car or an external battery. I used to convince myself using the manual pump was a pre-game cardio warmup. Yeah, that got old fast. I picked up a 20PSI high pressure SUP air pump called The Cachalot made by OutdoorMaster and it changed everything. With the manual pump I'd often stop early with just enough pressure to be comfortable and effective but with the automated pump I set it to 11PSI and it makes paddling way more efficient. I can easily inflate two boards and often a random stranger's board. Totally worth it as it greatly simplified setup and I get to enjoy this board and the water more often. A quick note about colors. Get whatever color you want but I wanted to share my reasoning for buying the orange board in case it helps anyone. I knew that I was going to take this out on larger bodies of water with lots of boats and wanted to be sure I'd be visible. After doing some research I learned that bright fluorescent green and orange are the two most visible colors on the water. That's why you see a lot of life vests and other safety equipment available in what they sometimes term "safety green" and "safety orange". One of the studies I looked at suggested that fluorescent green is the most visible, even more so than the standard orange you often see in life vests. This board didn't come in a green like that so I bought the orange and I have a new paddle and some UPF protective clothing that I got in fluorescent green. I feel more confident crossing the bay and navigating around speedboats with these colors. Did I mention how great this board is?! Finally, I want to mention that I purchased this board from DEAL GOODS and they are a phenomenal seller. I had a major derp moment where every time I'd inflate the board the air would rush out while I scrambled to insert the plug. I messaged them to ask about it and they politely pointed out the push valve that you need to push to toggle whether air should be allowed to escape or not. It always pays to read the manual, even for things that appear intuitive or simple. About a year after purchase I had an issue with the screw used to attach the fin and they helped me out with that as well. Both times they responded quickly and were extremely helpful. Kudos to the attentive sellers out there who value customer service! ... show more

  • Exceeded Expectations
Color: Marine Blue Style: Paddle Board
Purchased as an alternative to my hard SUP, primarily for easier transport to my destination and between parking and the water. I read a lot of reviews before buying which were overall positive, but also many contradictory, so I wasn't sure what to expect regarding inflating the board and stability. I have now inflated the board four times and used it twice on the water. The first time I inflated it at home to practice and test. No problems. The second time I took it to a lake, inflated it, but couldn't find the screw that holds the center fin. It was a bit windy and I'd read comments about the board being hard to control without the fin, so I opted to use another craft I'd brought along. I'm not sure when or how the screw came out of the fin. I emailed Pyle Customer Support directly and without issue they kindly sent me a replacement no charge. The screw in the new fin has a piece that prevents it from unscrewing all the way out. The original either didn't have this or it didn't work. I'll eventually get around to finding the correct size screw for a backup. The two times I've used the inflatable SUP have been excellent! It is so nice to be able to just put the bag in the car and go. Inflating is simple, taking me about 9 minutes with the hand pump. It's obviously significantly lighter than a hard board, and the handle makes it easy to carry to the water. I found the board to be surprisingly stable when standing, and easier on my back (than the hard board) when sitting. I do not have the optional seat back and I don't feel that I need it. Deflating is also simple, again taking me less than 10 minutes, including drying the board completely, rolling it up, putting it back in the bag and car. I love it. My pros are easy transport, time and effort saving, great experience on the water, great customer service, definitely worth the price. My only con is that it comes with a single-bladed paddle. I already had an adjustable double-bladed paddle, which is a must for me when sitting. I'm hopeful I'll get many more uses out of this inflatable board. Best practices for me: I use the dual-action setting on the manual pump to inflate the board until psi begins to register, which takes me 4-5 minutes, then I switch to single-action. 0-10 psi takes me 3-4 minutes, and 10-13 or 14 psi takes another minute. Use body weight, not arms. So far I've only inflated to 13-14 psi, which worked well for me. For deflation, I remove the plug and as it deflates I wipe to dry completely. Then I just roll remaining air out. Done. It comes with a strap to hold it together rolled, which I find helpful, but not necessary. ... show more
