The first thing you must understand is this is not a safe. The lock is not secure and not pick proof. It is simply a method to keep the lid closed. Second is to remember the function of the box is a fireproof container only. When the box is in a fire the outside plastic cover will likely fuse to the box. The write up makes no claim to it being waterproof, how do you have a fire without having water on it? I can understand that it is not submersible but a realistic test would include both fire and water from the attempt to put the fire out! Non the less I am going to take my chances that as long as it is not sitting in water it can withstand water on it. As far as interior size goes, it fit hanging folders fine. I am using it to store a 3" and 2" 3-ring binders and both of those fit on an angle. There were no defects in the construction of the box I received and the lock worked fine. It met my expectations, but make sure you understand its function and limitations. ... show more
