  • Excellent audio and comfort, with a technical learning curve
Color: Matte Black Size: X-Large
After using the Sena Impulse on my usual routes, here are my honest impressions: Audio & Microphone: The Harman Kardon speaker quality is crystal clear in the city and at moderate expressway speeds. However, at high speeds, the clarity drops off a bit. The microphone is the standout feature; the noise cancellation is so effective that people I talk to don't even realize I’m riding. Comfort & Aerodynamics: This is a very cool helmet, perfect for hot climates, and the weight is well-balanced—it never caused any neck strain on long rides. A surprising plus: the visor stayed completely clear of bugs, even though my bike's windshield and headlights were covered in them. Battery Life: I got 6 hours of continuous use with music playing and the rear LED light on. I received a low-battery warning at the 4-hour mark, but it lasted another 2 hours without issue. Cons: The few bugs that did hit the helmet shell were difficult to clean off. Also, the initial setup is tricky; I haven't been able to get the voice commands or the firmware update to work yet. ... show more

  • Awesome Sena helmet

It sounds awesome I even ordered a sound unit for my Shoei helmet

  • Great volume loudness but...
Color: Matte Black Size: X-Large
I have an ILM $80 helmet which I enjoy wearing. But I wanted a bit higher end helmet with bluetooth. The ILM 902/935 got shotty reviews but I picked one up anyway. The large helmet fix WAY tight, the sound was sub par and there was a constant electronic crackle when connected to my iPhone. I returned it now having the Sena Impulse in my hands. I took a gamble and ordered an x-large and the size feels very tight. I have to open the front face of the helmet to get my head in. Once I got my head in, I found the sound and volume levels very nice/loud. Calls, music, Siri and status' come in clear <60 mph. With the louder volume, music "can" be heard" but Siri can get confused with wind noise. But I have had some successes abate with multiple tries for the same TN or GPS request. Most helmet have a dial to control the bluetooth. This one has 4 buttons which I imagine feels like Im learning brail every time I make a change. The extra thick ((battery warming) gloves Im sure dont help. I think from extra usage I'll eventually learn Sena brail (which I am not a fan of). Also the manual claims there is a charging dongle and a usb_c cable (with the same magnetic connector as the dongle) that is suppose to be supplied. Im talking to support about the missing cable now so we'll see.... I have usb-c cables but if I lose the dongle Im hosed. I'm deciding to keep the Sena ($599) which will pay off with longer ride but will wear my ILM (non bluetooth helmet) for shorter ones as I can pop my head into the (Large size) hole with out opening the chin guard and its a cool looking red. Sena only comes in black or white :( So here I make a weird comment. Am I keeping it? Yes. Would I buy it again? Maybe as I'd look at other options first. Would I recommend it? Yeah, if your head was smaller, got your usb-c cable and want to learn Sena brail! Again Sena has the loudest volume option that I have experience so far and that tipped the scales for me. Update 30 days later: After 30 days of usage I would love to return the helmet. With ILM I wear a Large but with a XLarge Sena the helmet gives me a headache due to the tightness. I cannot put on the helmet without opening the front shell and spreading the sides. I did call support about the missing charging cable and never got results so I need to be extra careful with my proprietary charging dongle as without would make the blue tooth useless without charging. Again the blue tooth sound is the loudest I've ever experience but would I recommend or buy this helmet again? Probably not. Due to the tightness, my daily helmet goes to my $80 ILM. ... show more

  • Super happy with the purchase
Color: Gloss White Size: Medium
I wanted to get a helmet that had a built in system. I just happen to come across a YouTube video that feature 2024 top 5 best smart motorcycle helmets. Now I watch not just one but 3 different videos on this subject. And all videos they feature ”Sena impulse” and a couple of other ones. But this one is the smallest shell size . That won’t look like a mushroom or bobble head. I saw a video on RevZilla where I got a good ideal how it will look on me. So with that out of the way let talk about fitment, I wear a medium and got a medium and it fits perfectly. It was a little snug but still feels really comfortable. It doesn’t feel like my face in a vice like some other brands I have tried. It’s also nice that it comes with a pin lock, so no need to purchase one. The vents work perfectly especially if sitting in traffic. I really like the drop down sun shade inside the helmet. Now as far as the sound… it’s is top notch, the music is amazing and come in clean and crisp. Phone calls are excellent as well . With the easy to use buttons on the side of the helmets , it make it perfect to operate while riding . Now there are a couple of cons, or gripes that I have . The first one is there’s no d ring , so I can’t use my handlebars helmet lock that uses the d ring to lock it to. Second they only make a black tint face shield no other colors. Thats it ….and they are definitely not no deal breakers. In all I am very happy with the helmet , for the price it met my expectations. Especially when the whole system is included plus fitment and the sound quality is amazing . ... show more

  • Meh
Color: Matte Black Size: X-Large
So initially I really liked this helmet, the audio is pretty good and you can control it with your phone. But there is a ton of wind noise, especially on the left side. That could be because I have a big head, largest size they offer is XL and I think I'm just a bit more than that. I've also had issues with the helmet just like freezing up? When it happens the reset button on the back usually works, it's small though so you need something like a paper clip to press it which I don't usually have on my bike. A few times that didn't work though and I had to wait for it to die. It only has four buttons so it's easy to memorize, it comes with anti fog inserts but I keep forgetting I have them so I can't tell you if they're good. Bluetooth was easy enough to figure out but the app is a little slow. It does seem to update often and does so over Bluetooth when charging. I think it's uncomfortable, but again I might need a slightly larger size. Oh the mic is awful, presses right against the mouth, can barely adjust it. I have a lot of facial hair which makes it even worse. It's expensive for all the issues it has. ... show more

  • Horrible Fit.
Color: Gloss White Size: X-Large
The helmet runs EXTREMELY SMALL. I BOUGHT AN XL. TO ALLOW FOR COMFORTABLE FIT. THE PADDING IN THE HELMET IS CRAZY THICK. IT WAS A HARD PULL TO GET IT ON AND OFF. GAVE ME A HEADACHE. AND IT SMASHES YOUR FACE. BEAUTIFUL HELMET…DID NOT TRY TO PAIR. COULDNT GET PAST THE FIT OR LACK THERE OF.

  • 100% worth the money- sizes run small, order up one size
Color: Matte Black Size: X-Large
Was on the fence about spending this kind of money, but I did it and I am not disappointed at all. This helmet is amazing. The quality of the helmet and the Bluetooth which is integrated into the helmet is crystal clear and works so great. The helmet does have the slide down tinted shield inside, but I purchased a tinted shield for those extra long days of riding. This helmet is 100%quality.I will be purchasing another one for a family member. Take not though that this does run small.so if you normally take say a large, you will need to order the next size up.and remember you have to break a helmet in.so if it’s “just pretty snug” it will break in and you do not want a helmet that is too big or loose.this only comes in black and white at the time I am writing this review, hopefully they’ll come out with more coo later. ... show more

  • Could be great .UPDATE IT IS GREAT
Color: Matte Black Size: Medium
I am a little disappointed, I expected better. first let talk about the pro and con PRO: - Sound is AMAZING - Built in FM radio - Good looking Helmet with safety light (on or blinking) at the back of the helmet - Modular but feel solid CON: - Size chart is off. Err on the small side. Be aware - Charging magnetized plug is IDIOTIC. Does not stay in place. Why not use a micro USB ???????? - WORSE THAN ANYTHING, the app (at least for Google, I don't have an iPhone) is WORTHLESS. Even when the helmet is pair with your phone, the app shows that the helmet is not and makes difficult if not impossible to access the setting. - The light in the back does NOT work. Is it because of the app (the only way to turn the light on and off or just malfunction from the start. I do not know. But one main feature of this helmet isn't working I reorder a bigger size and hope that the light is working, if not it's a bummer but I will keep it just because the sound is just incredible even at high speed Returned the medium size and got a large. Fits much better. Also the light is now working and the apps seems to connect better. So updated the review to a 5 stars. Very quiet and sound is really fantastic ... show more
