Hinges aren’t that smooth so have to be careful when adjusting. No scratches but a lot of smudges. Hangers feel pretty decent, actually thick and could probably handle a lot more weight. I really like the mirror. Just arrived today. The only thing I would say, which is minor, considering how great of a mirror it is. There were just a couple of small scratches on the left mirror. I cleaned all 3 mirrors when it arrived, and those scratches, which are small do not come out. So far so good, I hung it up, seems very durable, haven’t cut my hair yet. As a university student who has been cutting hair for 2 years, getting this product was a no-brainer: I didn't have the time to consistently go to my regular barbershop and did not want to pay $20 for a fade every time from random barbershops that never know what I really want. Since purchasing this item I have saved over $200 worth in haircuts and have been able to maintain my hair much better than before I had it. There are two gripes I have with this product however. First, the design on the hook mechanism is kind of wonky and feels really unstable. When you first connect the hinges, they do not directly attach to the mirror which makes the whole setup really shaky. Also, if you ever need to readjust the mirror, you have to completely take it off of your door and realign the hinges which can be really annoying. Next, the price of this product is honestly probably not reasonable. You can replicate this setup for much less than the price of this product granted you're willing to put in the time to build a similar setup. Setup Setting up this product will require you to connect two hooks to the back and placing the hooks onto any door in your house. Keep in mind its probably best to check if the mirror aligns with your head before you actually hang it. If you hang it first and need to readjust, you have to take it off again. Using this product As a somewhat experienced barber, it took me about 3 haircuts to finally be able to give myself a fade without lines in under an hour. The mirror system is confusing at first but you will get the hang of it fast. I am now able to easily give myself a more difficult fade (contour etc) within 40mins. Keep in mind, the back of your head will probably be the hardest part to do touch-ups to. It is really hard to see the back even with three mirrors, and, with the size of the mirrors, there will be alot of occasions where u cannot see the mid back at all because your hand covers it. ... show more

I have to admit that I wasn't particularly happy that it's a plastic mirror. I expected glass for some reason, That means it's not as reflective as it could be and will eventually get scratched up. For $50, I expected glass. That said, I do like the size. The extra inches are valuable. The separate steel straps for hanging it up are a nuisance (and ugly). There's a hole every three inches or so, and none of the holes put the mirror at the proper height for me. I may try to jury rig some sort of suction-cup arrangement so I can attach it to the mirror over the sink. It doesn't weigh much. ... show more

I purchased this one because of the metal hinges. They are very important. Bought the same brand sometime ago with plastic hinges and telescopic hooks. It was ok for a while, but the hinge on one side suddenly broke and made it useless. I replaced it with this version. It seems superior. The hinges are more reliable,but the mirror is significantly heavier due to the fact that they changed not only the hinge but also the overall design and it is thicker. This mirror weight definitely can not be supported by telescopic hooks so they went with completely different sturdier ones. Overall it seems more durable and improved. The mirror seems free of distortion. Hopefully it will last. The price seems a bit steep, but I feel that it is backed up by quality. I saw many similar looking products, but don't fall for the ones with the plastic hinges or for the ones that do not show the hinge. They will snap and one or both sides will fall off guaranteed. ... show more

I'm absolutely blown away that there aren't more products like this available! As far as functionality goes, it's the perfect setup for cutting your own hair - and makes it possible to see the back of your head for both trimming and shaving your neck. Within just a few minutes of messing with it, I figured out the angles to see the back of my head perfectly - it's the perfect companion to the Remington HC4250 hair clippers if you want to save money and cut your own hair. To me, the biggest issue was those rickety hanging brackets. This mirror is expensive for what it is anyway, but the brackets make it feel like a total piece of junk. Fortunately, using simple command strips (Found Here) , completely solves the problem and makes this mirror far more stable and less intrusive. It starts to look and feel like more of a quality product by just changing how it's mounted. Switching to command strips does require removing the mounting bracket from the back of the mirror - but it's held in place by 3 Philips screws, so that only takes a few seconds. I would definitely recommend giving this mirror a try - but I'd also recommend throwing away the brackets and using Command Strips for mounting. ... show more
