After almost a month of use, this thing is plenty quick and sturdy. I've take it off of curbs without issue. It's very stable, it has good range even on sport mode. ECO Mode would be plenty for most. The headlight leave a little to be desired but it's effective enough. The signals and brake lights are plenty bright. The locking mechanism is super quick and easy, also very sturdy. The media could not be loaded. This is my first E-Scooter purchase. I was in the market to buy one for a while but setbacks kept me from making the purchase. I researched tirelessly until I realized it's best for me to try and ride one for reference. So I saw Unagi has a rental service and I rented a Model One. It had dual motors for hills which I thought was necessary for hill climbing on my commute. While the scooter was decent it lacked suspension and the solid and tiny all rubber tires just made me come home with achy knees, ankles, and neck. The stem wobbled and just felt like it would eventually break. So I thought I needed a dual motor full suspension scooter which tended to be the high-speed ones that cost over $1200. I went to test drive a bunch that went over 30 MPH. They were all heavy and I knew I couldn't have something over 60 lbs and they were just too much power for me with jerky throttles. Then the G2 came out and I watched reviews and saw that this was considered a huge upgrade from the very popular G30 Max that I saw everywhere because of the suspension. So I took the plunge and ordered the G2. I absolutely love this thing. Tubeless 10" air-filled tires, check. Hydraulic suspension in the front which tends to be found on scooters way more expensive WITH dual spring adjustable suspension in the rear, check. Solid build quality with a manageable yet enjoyable commuter-friendly top-speed, check. Solid wobble-free stem at top speed, check. It has great torque and acceleration and on every hill, I've tried it on on your usual NYC streets, it handles with ease going faster than even the dual-motor Unagi at an average speed of 17 MPH. The brakes are good but I'd recommend setting the regen electrical breaks to medium to assist. I've had no high-temperature failures like some have mentioned nor any of the other programming bugs others have also mentioned. I believe the Universe made sure that I didn't purchase a scooter I'd regret buying and made sure I waited for this perfect scooter to come along. The ONLY issue is the weight since I have 6 flights of steps with my top floor apartment but the trade-off with the suspension is worth it. I have no pain in my body after riding this scooter around for even long rides. It just glides over everything. It is the absolute best way to get around NYC and I find myself not wanting to drive at all. It has transformed my Summer as I can easily explore my neighborhood and others close by with ease and comfort. The G30 Max is a legend but they say once you've had a scooter with suspension there's no going back and I can tell you for sure that is very true. Spend a bit more money (if you can) and get the G2 over the G30. Your joints will thank you, believe me. If you are over 200 lbs I'd recommend waiting until Segway fixes the issue with overheating since it seems like this happens with heavy riders since its max weight limit is 265 lbs. This is all the scooter you need for daily urban commuting with all the potholes, road cracks, uneven pavement, and hills like in NYC. ... show more

I bought this early December. I broke my elbow on the 8th, and it arrived on the 9th. D’oh! I was concerned because of the reviews I read, but now that I’ve been riding it for about a month, I can easily say, “This thing is AWESOME!!!” The turn signals are bright af, you can customize most everything in the app. It consistently goes 22 mph (I don’t weigh much) and does better on hills in San Francisco than the ride share scooters!! The main stem is very tall, & it’s rock solid. The shocks work wonders, and are even fun as I bounce while going over bumps. My only complaints are the buttons for the turn signal & horn. They’re small and I’ve seen another G2 at the gym with missing turn signal buttons. Also, the horn should be as loud as the movement alarm. Well, it’s San Francisco. No one pays attention to horns anyway. Be it from a scooter or a fire truck. All in all, I’m super happy with my purchase!! ... show more

Three months after purchasing this product, with the Asurion 2 Year Ride-On Protection Plan, the battery stopped charging. This is a relatively frequent problem which Segway is apparently aware of. I contacted Asurion. Asurion repeatedly redirects me to Segway, which repeatedly does not respond. I have been very happy with the quality of Segway products in the past, but know that now it's a gamble. If you happen to get one of their lemons, then it will probably be a total loss - even if you waste the extra money with the Asurion "Protection". Segway's standards have obviously dropped, and the better value would be purchasing from another company with responsive and reputable customer support. ... show more

I use this and public transportation together. I work several miles from home, and using this scooter in conjunction with our local bus service works great. Has good acceleration, and zips along at 20mph no problem. Will carry 265 pounds, so it easily carries me (I'm 200) with no problems. Easy to fold, and weighs just 53 pounds. A little heavy, but doable for carrying onto the bus. I usually ride the bus non rush hour, so not too many people. Don't know how it would be with a full bus. Would be nice if I could somehow strap it to the bike rack that's mounted on the front of the bus, but that's not possible, unfortunately. ... show more

Day 1 was a success! I am very pleased with performance. Hill climb is incredible. Great acceleration. The suspension Is great. I rode for 20 miles on sport mode fresh out the box! Didn't feel like 20.... Definitely a head turner lol..

Bought this for commuting in Seattle. I now park a couple miles from the ferry (free parking) and make a 10 minute ride in the morning. Going up the hills was a 15 minute walk, but I now do it in about 7 minutes. Total game changer! I recommend the scooter with the shocks…..bumps can be jarring, so the shocks make a big difference. ... show more
