I looked at two different lawn aerators such as this. I liked the fact this one was heavier than the other so it'd penetrate soil better. I also liked the fact you can add water or sand to the cylinder for even more weight. Construction is solid, although there is a hook that it comes with that really doesn't seem to be of any use in my opinion. Item comes boxed in pieces. Instructions are ok and could be better. The images are so small it’s hard to see what’s what. I needed to use extra washers as nuts for the bolts looked to recess in metal holes, so I used washers to eliminate this as shown in pics. I also used shims to the wheels. Overall it took about an hour to assemble but still worth the hassle. If you are looking for an inexpensive lawn aerator that you don't mind doing yourself, then this is for you. I have rented the larger gas ones before and they can be very cumbersome to use.

Heavier than i thought it would be which allows it to do a much better job than i was buying it for. Blades are large enough that it also allows me to locate rocks, etc that are just below ground level which is also a nice plus i wasnt counting on.

Not so good, unable to put the pole/handle together that you push with. Sent company 4 emails, since no phone number available, and on the directions it states, "Question about your product, we're here to help.". What a laugh, never rec'd a response. These guys don't give a crap!

Very heavy should be fine for the yard. Had to bend the end of the handle to get it to fit during assembly. Could be made better.

extremely happy (not a bot). I have used this 4 times on the majority of my yard in the month since my purchase. Very strong handle. the weight is good to get a minimum inch deep on each pass. I lightly water if the soil is too dry. I live in North Texas and our soil is heavy clay which requires aeration. I weigh 200+ so pushing is not an issue. I place the handle at my hip to produce down force which helps. I had a pro aeration done earlier this year but they miss areas. This tool easily gets into tight areas. I used it to "till" my yard to lay new seed. I tillled close to an inch down in my soil but left the grass that was already growing. I have several friends who purchased aeration sandals which i will encourage to get this as well.

Pretty happy with this for what it costs. Assembly was straight forward and easy. Frame is sturdy and doesn’t flex when in use. I used a cinder block to add weight so the tines would get down into the yard. Worked exactly as I expected. Could see a quick different when watering and applying fertilizer as it now had a chance to get below the surface level. As far as value I’d recommend this to anyone that is working on improving your yard and not needing core aeration.
