    • A great addition to or the beginning of a home built security system.
I have three Faleemi pet/baby cameras that I use to watch the inside of my home, dogs, etc. So when I decided to go outside, I looked to Faleemi. In brief: I am very pleased with the camera and software. It is a very good combination. Details: A. Hardware: the camera comes with the things needed to set up your camera. Mounting screws, screw template, a small screwdriver, power supply, and an Ethernet cable. Having installed three different Faleemi inside cameras , I was very confident that this would be a breeze. After a few seconds I knew something was wrong so I followed the reset instructions, powered down and forced myself to read the install instructions. As I had suspected, I had skipped a step so I plugged everything back in, launched the app and was relieved a short time later when the install was completed without a hitch. I have always found Faleemi products to be easy enough to install but following the instructions is important. This camera is different in that is designed for outside so it’s aluminum body is substantial. Not heavy but you know that it is rugged from the feel. It also has a different software than the other Faleemi cameras but is still very easy to navigate. It has a cable coming out of the back which spits into three, a power, an Ethernet port and a reset button. My installation area is low and fairly accessible so I am glad I had planned ahead to cover the cables. One of my other Faleemi cameras is 1080p but this camera seems to have a better quality image. Setting up and viewing the image is straight forward. The microphone on the camera seems sensitive enough but I still have not had a lot of experience with it. ETHERNET PORT? But it is a WIFI camera. It is and as such it is great. The Ethernet port facilitates installation. I will be getting two power over Ethernet adapters to 1. Extend my power supply (AC) and 2. Ethernet is more responsive than WiFi. B. Software Your name and password can only connect from a single place one at a time. If you log in from different devices with the same account credentials it will allow it but log you out of the first one and notify you of the subsequent login. At first I found this irritating but as I thought out of my own little box, I realize it is a valuable security feature. From installation of the software to connecting to my home network, the use of the camera, everything seemed pretty easy. I have discussed with Faleemi Support the issue of a different software package and I understand that this camera is a significantly different level of use than my previous cameras. They have moved from pet/child/home monitoring into the realm of home security, a different level of function and security. C. My view of the future with Faleemi. I wondered and asked about using the camera with other software. As I understand it, the hardware uses Faleemi’s own software. This is good and bad. As they deviate from “standards” of video and voice transmission and still have a functional camera-monitoring system the user is more secure; HOWEVER, the total system is more and more isolated and less functional. In other words using different components for different purposes and placing them into a unique personal security system even using Faleemi cameras is not possible, today. I have talked to Faleemi Support and understand that may change in the near future. They hint at using other software packages allows using Faleemi cameras that also use a specific set of standards. I hope to work with them either following their setup procedures or developing a set of instructions to allow Faleemi cameras a standard protocol. Most buyers of any camera or security system would like to start small and build upon it. Update 10/25/21 - From 1 star to 3 I'm updating my review again after realizing I can remove a screw at the bottom of my outdoor camera and insert a micro SD card and I can still get the short video clips for a longer period of time (depends how much storage capacity the card has). While it is still inconvenient that Faleemi changed from longer-term storage of video clips that were 12 seconds or so down to only 48 hours (I previously misstated it was only 24 hours), the company who makes their software should have kept it as it was. This degraded the usefulness of the camera unnecessarily. This move was, I believe, to push people into upgrading to their subscription-based cloud storage service. It annoys me when companies do this to their customers. I now have the inconvenience and expense of buying and installing a micro SD card, which was previously unnecessary until that unfortunate software update, which they seem to deny doing; though, as I explained to them, it seems they white label the same software that Wansview uses, and the same thing happened to all my cams with them at the same time. In any event, I'm giving two stars back because at least there is the OPTION for me to install a micro SD card that allows me to restore this functionality without needing to resort to a paid cloud storage subscription. Update 8/12/21 - 5 stars reduced to 1 star I like the cam, but the software was recently updated and did away with the short clips of videos over 24 hours old. This VASTLY diminishes the usefulness of this cam. I am VERY disappointed. Now there are only single, snapshot images of what used to be 12 second video clips. There appears to be a slot to put your own SD card to store them yourself, which I hate to resort to, but they are now FORCING all users into relying on their fee-based cloud service in order to review the video clips. I am likely going to REMOVE this cam now, because I see now point in it and I encourage EVERYONE who has one to complain very loudly. It looks like Wansview and others use the same software and is heading in the same direction. VERY BAD MOVE by Faleemi and other GREEDY cam companies. I can no longer recommend this cam (or Wansview), which I previously gave 5 stars. I'll be updating my Wansview cam reviews now as well. ----------- I saw some of the negative reviews and was a little concerned but gave it a shot anyway. I am glad I focused on all the positive reviews because so far I've had a great experience with it. Major construction work is beginning behind my friend's property so there was some concern regarding her boundary line being respected. I set this up to give her some peace of mind. Here's what I like about it: 1. Was easy to set up. Took literally 3 minutes and the audio voice guided me through the whole set up. 2. It actually worked on my friend's 5GHz network, as I wasn't sure how to access her 2.4GHz network. 3. It has a really clear, crisp image both day and night; powerful IR bulbs at night! 4. The microphone is amazing and picks up everything outside including the birds, voices, cars passing, etc. 5. By double-tapping the screen it zooms in, then I can move it around with my finger to see particular areas larger 6. The mount is very adjustable using the hex screws so I was able to position it very precisely and securely 7. Can log in from anywhere and keep an eye on property 8. The motion detection works perfectly, though it's a bit more sensitive at night when large moths fly in front of the lens 9. The app works great and seems well-designed 10. The image is not "laggy" despite being far away from the wifi router and having a weak signal to connect to 11. The interface/navigation is intuitive and similar to other cam software I've used so I already know where everything is and how to use it Here's what I didn't like about it: 1. No complaints. Can't think of a single thing I don't like about it so far. I can't comment on customer service as I've had no need to contact them. This was a fantastic investment. Highly recommended. ... show more

The Customer Service is exceptional! Anytime I needed any help with setting it up, they quickly respond. I’ve had the indoor camera for a couple years so I could check on my puppies while I was away from home. I really like how I can use the app to move the camera to look for them in a different area, & set positions that I use often so I can just click on that position & it will go to it. The microphone works wonderfully – although the puppies react almost the same as in person and don’t listen all the time LOL - I recently purchased the outdoor one because I hear the neighbors say my puppies were barking when I was away and didn’t want to have to keep them in the house. Now with an SD card inserted and motion detection activated I can check on them easily. I wanted to record more than a few seconds on this camera. The app has a cool feature that I can look at both cameras at the same time if I want to. The cameras are so easy to set up & the picture quality is amazing. I am about to set up another outdoor camera for my front yard so that I can see more than my ring shows me and for longer periods of time. I had to buy another brand of outdoor camera that works without WI-FI for a different home and I must say that I am much happier with Faleemi features.
