Boy - I really don't understand comforter sizing. We have a queen sized bed and I consistently buy king sized quilts, duvets, duvet covers and comforters. This is because if you buy queen sized, the comforter is really only big enough to just barely drape over the size of the bed. It doesn't even come down far enough on the sides to cover your sheets and any other blankets underneath. How does that look good? Because of this consistency, I ordered this duvet cover in king to cover a king sized duvet for my queen bed. It is exactly the size promised and fit my duvet perfectly. However, if I put it on my (queen sized!) bed so that the stripes are vertical (as they are in the pic), the comforter was not long enough to cover my mattress at the foot of my bed. It hung about 2/3 of the way down the mattress. Just no. So I had to use the cover in the other direction and I had much better luck with the fit, but then the shams are going the opposite direction of the cover. Odd. It should be noted that both king and queen mattresses are 80" long, so this would have been exactly the same fit problem in a king sized mattress. I just don't get it. All of that being said, this is a nice quality duvet cover and it does look nice on my bed. I wish it had more ties inside (but the ties that are present are long and easy to tie!), but my duvet does have additional loops at the middle of each side which would help it to slide around less. It should also be noted that because I had to use this turned the "wrong way" the zipper (also a great feature) is on the side of the duvet cover. Nice quality, great price. Recommended if you're not picky about fit on bed or stripe direction.
