Description

The X-Pot Kettle is part of the innovative X-Series of camp cookware from Sea to Summit. Food-grade, heat-resistant silicone side walls expand for use and collapse for transit. Hard anodized aluminum base conducts heat evenly for boiling water and is designed for small flames of camp stoves. Includes translucent lid to expedite boiling and conserve fuel. Nylon handles are lightweight and do not conduct heat. Convenient spout for an accurate pour. Sea to Summit X-Mugs or X-Brew Coffee Dripper will nest and stow with the X-Kettle into a compact kit. Available in two sizes: 1.3-liter capacity (44 ounces) packs to 6 x 1.25 inches and weighs 6.5 ounces; 2.2-liter capacity (74 ounces) packs to 7.5 x 1.75 inches and weighs 10.5 ounces.

I bought this to use as a small teapot in my camper and was pleasantly surprised at how well it works. Collapses easily, heats easily on a small flame and heats enough water at once for two cups. The media could not be loaded. I was worried this pot would be too small for cooking meals for two. I make my own dehydrated meals and they’re a little bigger than freeze dried. I was pleasantly surprised that there was more than enough room!

    • I thought it was a gimmick. It’s not.

I had a trailhead crisis and had to buy a pot quickly for a weekend campout. The only pit big enough was the S2S x-pot. I really thought it was a silly, gimmicky, toy that could never match my Toaks titanium pots. I was so wrong. These pots and kettles are the same weight class as titanium, pack small and work great over a backpacking stove. I own each size and they’re all I use now. The only downside I’ve found is, because they are silicone sided, they will take on strong flavors. Took me awhile to get the bell pepper smell out after a stew. They are also hand wash only. My backpacking buds are slowly but surely buying their own after using mine. Very happy and would buy again!! ... show more

Con: Can be difficult to put the lid on tightly after filling with water. Pushing down on the lid can cause the kettle to collapse. Pro: compact, slides nicely into full backpack.

Great for overlanding! We are able to keep it in our drawer system for quick meals, when we aren’t ready to pull the whole kitchen setup out. It’s definitely best used for soups, MREs or other liquid based meals. Trying to make rice in it was a poor decision as it stuck really bad!
