I saw a YT video regarding this Scuddles paint sprayer and he raved about it. There are so many on Amazon so just got this one. At first I had a real hard time spraying the paint through trials and errors I get the right mixture dilution. DO NOT EXPECT THIS SPRAYER TO WORK WITH PAINT STRAIGHT FROM A CAN. The paint must be diluted to the right consistency/flow in order for the sprayer to work properly. Once you get the right consistency it paints flawlessly and quickly without using as much paint as with a roller. Use the funnel included to determine the consistency. ... show more

    • Great product for a beginner
I don't write many reviews, however, I was so pleasantly surprised by this paint sprayer I felt I should. Before attempting to use, I watched several videos on YouTube and online. There are some subtle things in the video, so watch closely and several times. I thinned my latex paint with 1 1/2 cups water per gallon of paint. When I first started using the unit, I had a lot of splatter. This was improper use on my part. Once I realized I needed to lock in the spray direction knob, this corrected. And then it took a few tries adjusting the material volume control. Once these adjustments were made, spray painting became incredibly easy. I'm in my mid 50's and was painting an entire room, including the closet and ceiling. Took some time but finished the first coat in 3 1/2 - 4 hours. We'll see if now that I have figured out the kinks if the 2nd coat goes much faster today. Overall, after using this sprayer, it will be my go to for painting a room.     • Works like a small hopper
I had a unique use other's might find useful. I was building speakers, the paint I was using is DuraTex. It's very very thick. It's recommended to use a hopper and apply this paint like you might sheetrock texture, going on in droplets. It has a nice durable look. I read some of the negative reviews and they stated how the paint spattered, it did just that. I had to dilute the paint of course and once I found the right amount of added water it worked quite well. Now I don't know what using regular latex would look like but for my purposes it worked great. Probably because of the paint thickness I really couldn't play with any adjustments so I have no idea how well they work, I had to crank everything up and use the biggest tip to accommodate that thick thick paint. The plastic used for construction cleaned up quite well. I read the instructions at first and actually found them to be more confusing than helpful. There were a couple useful application tips that you might find out the hard way. One tip, if you're doing the hopper idea like I was attempting, really watch your consistency. In hindsight I wish I paid more attention. I got zero consistency, mostly I didn't understand or what to expect on my first attempt. Next time will be better. Update I used a different paint on a different project. My previous remarks are still accurate from how I see it. I wanted to add that it still did the hopper thing putting on in droplets but something I will find handy on my next project and that is I'm repairing a wall and now I won't need to worry about adding texture, this sprayer will add enough I can blend it in ... show more

I’m not sure if I’m using it wrong, or else I would have returned it. Came out very splotchy and resorted to a roller. I tested it multiple times and fiddled with the settings. There was also a ripped rubber piece in the box and not sure if that’s the reason it’s not working for me. I did not see the ripped rubber part in the manual for parts ... show more

I really like this spray painter. This was my first experience using a spray gun and it was not as difficult as I imagined. I am a Senior and female DIYer and liked the ease of filling, handling, and painting.     • Much faster than painting by hand
I bought it to paint my barn which has a very rough texture. The best part is that it’s relatively easy to use- once you figure out how to adjust it, and it gets the job done a whole lot faster. Also uses a lot less paint than a roller or brush. It gets heavy after a while- but I’m 58 and have arthritic hands/wrists so it’s probably easier for someone in better shape! ... show more
