Description

Treat weeds and feed your lawn with Scotts® Turf Builder® WinterGuard® Fall Weed & Feed3 in the fall for a better lawn next spring. This weed killer plus lawn fertilizer controls over 50 listed lawn weeds, including clover, dandelion, plantain, morningglory, chicory, eveningprimrose, and purslane. In addition, it delivers the nutrients needed to help recover from damage from the summertime and build strong roots to take on harsh winter conditions. Apply Scotts® Turf Builder® WinterGuard® Fall Weed & Feed3 on a calm day when weeds are actively growing and temperatures are consistently between 60°F and 90°F. Make sure your grass is moist from dew or sprinkling, as this helps particles adhere to weed leaves to produce the best results. We recommend using a Scotts® spreader to apply this product. For Scotts® broadcast/rotary spreaders, use a setting of 3 1/2. For Scotts® drop spreaders, use a setting of 6. Do not water your lawn for 24 hours after application. This lawn care product is for use on Bahiagrass, Bermudagrass, Bluegrass, Centipedegrass, Fescue, Ryegrass, and Zoysiagrass. Do not apply to St. Augustinegrass (including Floratam), Dichondra, Lippia, Carpetgrass, or Bentgrass. One 11.43 lb. bag covers 4,000 sq. ft.

I’ve have used this for several years and it always works. All broadleaf weeds die out, but it does take two plus weeks to see progress in my experience. After a month or so, lawn looks much better. Some weeds do remain and it is not effective on them. The grass will not die out of it is applied lightly. I recommend using less than you might think is needed. Always wait 8-10 weeks before reapplication. I will continue to use in the future. ... show more

Hubby ordered this because it was cheaper than at the big box stores. It shipped promptly, then we were told it was delayed, then it was "returned by purchaser" only it was not - we'd never received it! Luckily it was the same price when we reordered. The second order came, and it was easy to figure out what had happened the first time - it was in a really flimsy Amazon box, and the bag weighs about 40 pounds. This one had a crushed, ripped box, but I'm guessing the first just didn't survive. That said, this is good fertilizer and helps keep the weeds at bay. Awesome. It's just unfortunate that it's so pricey, and the size options are such that for our yard, at least, the cheapest way to get enough coverage always leaves us throwing out significant amounts of leftover fertilizer. But my hubby does love his lush green lawn. ... show more

The only problem I have with this product it is very fine and dusty. I had a couple of areas that got killed because I shook the spreader and the dust off the wheels dumped a large amount is one area and killed the grass. We will see how good of job it did next year.

After using this turf builder the grass grew a lot faster and appears much thicker/denser. It did seem to kill some of the weeds but mostly just the big leaved ones which are easy to pull out. I was more concerned about the small leaved weeds that are harder to pull out by the root. It doesn't seem to kill those. ... show more

    • Easy to spread but not as strong as it used to be

Been landscaping for 25yrs and Scott's is over priced with this quality of fertilizer...it's the powder form that dissolves too fast so it doesn't work as well as a granule fertilizer that breaks down slowly and sits on the grass this stuff is powder form...dissolves too fast and results are not too good for the price of Scott's ... show more
