  • Lightweight, comfortable, and premium quality helmet!
I’ve been riding with the ScorpionEXO ST1400 Carbon for over a year now, and it’s easily one of the best helmets I’ve ever owned. The carbon fiber shell keeps it incredibly lightweight while still feeling strong and durable. Its aerodynamic design performs great at high speeds with virtually no buffeting or excess wind noise. The AirFit system is a real game changer and being able to fine-tune the cheek pads for a perfect, custom fit makes long rides so much more comfortable. It’s also great that it’s Bluetooth ready and the speaker pockets make installing my Cardo system super easy and clean. Ventilation is excellent, keeping me cool during longer rides, and the internal sun visor is super convenient for changing light conditions. Overall, this helmet looks amazing, feels premium, and performs flawlessly. DOT and ECE approval gives me confidence in the protection. Definitely worth every penny for riders who want top quality and comfort! ... show more

  • Solid overall helmet for the price!
TLDR: I love this helmet! So this helmet is a great choice for both beginners and more experienced riders looking for a more fitting helmet that offers those few extra features that some lower end helmets just don't include. For starters this is the third helmet I've owned in 5 years of riding and by far my favorite. Now since this is a review for this helmet I'm going to talk about this helmet only and the features I've loved about it so far (about 2k miles with it). 1st: It's super light! This helmet is by far the lightest helmet I've owned and is definitely a great commuter helmet. Since most places currently require some sort of face covering, often times when I'm headed into a store I'll just keep the helmet on and honestly don't really notice it on my head compared to my old helmet. This really helps when I end up riding all day too and stop for meals, a drink, or gas and don't have to pull it off everytime I go inside and in general I've noticed my neck fatigue has almost gone away farther than having sore shoulders and neck after 5+ hours of driving. 2nd: Great ventilation! Around where I live has often gotten up to 100°F the past couple of weeks and this helmet (when moving) has solid ventilation and with the face shield cracked has plenty of ventilation. The only time I've had any discomfort from heat and lack of ventilation is I was stuck at a light or left it on the helmet lock on my bike sitting outside for extended periods of time and putting it back on. In this case since its black it pretty much absorbs all of the heat that it sees and gets warm until I start moving but once I open all the vents it cools well enough for my liking. 3rd: I love the styling. More often than not I've gotten compliments on just my helmet alone with how it looks. Being made of carbon fiber and paired with a glossy black finish it shines on my head and wherever I bring it and has led to a few conversations of the importance of quality gear over cheap crap that'll lead to major injuries in the case of an accident. 4th: Functionality! This helmet checks every box of what I need when riding. It has a built in sun visor that is easily brought down to help keep the glare off my eyes when driving toward the sun in sunsets or just on bright days I general. Three only gripe I have with the sin visor is how pushing the slider up brings it down and vice versa which makes more sense the other way around but honestly doesn't make a difference. The helmet comes with recessed areas that allow you to easily install any headset. It has ear holes that are perfectly lined up with my ears that I placed the speakers for my headset to listen to music/directions to in and have been extremely handy when it comes to comfort and not having the speakers smashed up against my ears like some helmets. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase and once the lifecycle ends for this helmet I'll most likely be looking to get the next version of it or whatever the newest model in this line is when it comes out. Stay safe out there friends! ... show more

  • You'll love this helmet!! You'll love this helmet!!
I bought this helmet used from the Amazon Warehouse and was expecting it to arrive with a few scuffs or other defects, but it was flawless! It looks great and you can tell it's super strong! I haven't had a helmet with an internal sun visor before, but after one ride with this one, I'm hooked. It is the lightest helmet I've ever worn and the aerodynamics are amazing! Even while riding down the interstate at 75 mph, my head was stable and I didn't notice any of the wind buffeting I got from my old helmet. It is super comfortable and the the inflatable cheek pads allow you to really get a snug fit. The ram air vents work well with very little noise inside. It was 97° here yesterday, and after riding for an hour, my head was still cool! I was able to install the Bikecom Bluetooth audio from my old helmet and it sounds so much better inside this helmet! The speaker pockets are a perfect fit too! As for the size, Scorpion helmets tend to run small for most, so I was kind of "hoping it would fit." My head is 22" around, but I went with a Large anyway, and it's perfect! If you're looking for a quality carbon helmet, I think you'll be happy with this one and you cant beat the quality. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Safety for a price? Pick this helmet!
I really love this helmet. I bought this and have had it for one riding season. I really love how LIGHT the helmet is and really like how it fits on my head and that it has a visor in it if it's too bright. However! The problem is it is LOUD in the helmet. I can pick up the wind noise unfortunately and I have to wear heavier ear plugs and a scarf to try and stop the wind from making it into the helmet and into my ears. I would recommend this helmet as it is durable, comes in the Scorpion box. I ordered a small and love using this. This helmet also is rated SNELL and DOT approved. ... show more

  • Best touring helmet sub $500
Now that have a couple thousand miles on this thing while touring here are my thoughts: It is still a gorgeous helmet. The carbon fiber is beautiful and the helmet is holding up well. “Quiet” is a relative term. It is not car quiet nor is it loud but with music going on a sena I don’t have to crank the volume which I call a win. The helmet is comfortable as long as you get the right size. It is tight out of the box but as the pads break in it is fits my head like it is supposed to. The pump in my opinion is more of a novelty but I am hoping that when the cheek pads do the old helmet sag the pump will keep them up on my face. I will say at three lbs. it’s not heavy. My neck doesn’t get sore after riding 8 hours on long trips. The flip down sun shield has some weird optics going on. I’m sure you can adjust it but I wear glasses with transitional lens and have no need to flip it down unless I’m trying to get an eye roll from my kids. Final thoughts? Best touring helmet of 2019 and sub $500 ... show more

  • I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite helmet on the citadel. I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite helmet on the citadel.
My measurements indicated a medium, but from other reviewers recommendations I went large and it was still a snug fit. I did try XL and that was too big so I contacted the manufacturer to see if there were thinner cheek pads, the problem area, and they said no, the Large is it's own shell size, only one size cheek pad available. However, they said to remove the cheek pads, get them damp, and press them overnight under something heavy. According to them that just shortcuts the break in period and it did make it far more comfortable. I still have enough pressure on my cheeks to make me careful about not biting them while riding, but it's in the comfortable range now and I've had it on for a couple hours with no hotspots so the overall head fit is correct. It's not worlds lighter than my old HJC, but it is noticeable if you put them on one after the other, and it feels a little better cutting the wind at speed which is nice since I don't use a windshield. It has a good construction and quality feel, it was easy to remove and reattach padding to install a headset, and had nice deep ear pockets for the speakers that came with foam and padding in them to keep noise down until I installed something. The internal sunvisor is definitely a nice feature, one I wouldn't want to be without now that I've tried a helmet without one, but the clarity could be a little better, though I don't know how much more clarity you could get with something designed for safety as I assume not shattering into your eyes during a crash is higher on the list than superior optical clarity. It's not bad, I just wish it was a little better. Fogging happens less than on my previous lid too, I think due to the nasal piece that protrudes up a little bit that I thought I wouldn't like, but other than having to tilt my head down a bit to see my tank mounted gauge I've gotten used to it. It seems like good value for the money considering it's construction materials and overall quality and I'm happy with my first helmet over the 200 dollar price point. ... show more

  • Comfortable
Beautiful and comfortable but the main visor cracked and broke within a month and now about a year of having this helmet it falls off my motorcycle seat and the shade visor inside broke from that. Both visors were terrible quality and I really regret my purchase.
