  • Take your time and heat slow with gun 2-3” away from wood
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I admit I was skeptical but you have to heat up slow and it takes a while but it works great for designs . I use a torch to make flags but I wanted precise burns for this project. I heated with a heat gun on low, if on high it does scorch the wood. Definitely have to have patience!

  • Not skeptical anymore - love them!
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 3)
The media could not be loaded. I was skeptical that the markers would work, but I gave it a shot with a class of high-schoolers. The students found them easy to use. We did have to be mindful not to put too much ink on the wood disk or they would bleed a little. (But that is a wood issue, IMO). The Christmas ornaments came out great! The students created these all on their own. Very little adult supervision was needed (mostly to remind them to be careful with heat gun). Now I am addicted!! I will be creating a lot of items!! ... show more

  • Marker bleeding issue
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I really like the idea of this product and the final result came out great however the marker bled through my stencil even though my stencil was FIRMLY adhered to the board... and I had to spend over an hour sanding the fine little areas to remove bleed marks so it wouldn’t look like I drew it on with permanent marker. That’s a design flaw— if this is meant to be used on real wood, And some parts of the wood didn’t take the marker well so I had to keep going over it with the marker and re-burning. Overall it worked for what I needed it for, and I will try again on my next craft project until I find a better way to burn wood ... show more

  • Looks like sharpie on wood not burned. But fun
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
The media could not be loaded. It works like in the video. However it doesn’t look like woodbines items look. It looks like sharpie on wood. That being said my kids had fun using it anyways. I was hoping to make ornaments and sell them. But I don’t dare die to the look. It also only works on thick wood. I had thin wood ornaments and it bled. See last picture. Also have to work fast or the pen soaks in too much and bleeds. Only thick lines work ok. Thin lines do not look good. We did 10 ornaments and pen ran out. The brush pen is cheap foam and didn’t work well. Overall fun item but too expensive for the mediocre results. ... show more

  • Scorch

This marker works just as described. It's fun to use for crafts.

  • Don’t waste your money
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I was hoping the product ads and positive reviews were real, but I did not get the same results. The more minor issues are that the thin tip bleeds and the thick tip is way too thick for detailed work. The bigger issue is that it doesn’t work- I bought a professional heat gun and followed all product instructions- when I tried the heat gun I saw barely any difference to small sections of the wood and no difference in most areas where the scorch marker had been used. I continued to slowly and carefully use the heat gun with no results. I wore goggles and other safety equipment. The only eventual change to the wood was that it started cracking- the scorch pen marks still hadn’t darkened but the wood was cracking apart with sharp noises. It scared me and I’m glad I wore goggles. This was the lowest heat setting, following all product instructions, and it broke the wood apart and never darkened the area colored with the scorch pen. I was planning to make holiday gifts with my scorch pen, but after that disaster of a trial I bought a wood burning tool and made the gifts. I bough this product because I thought it would be easier to use, but since it didn’t work at all, it was worth the challenges of learning to use a wood burning tool instead. Don’t waste your money- I know this product looks great but it doesn’t live up to the ads. ... show more

  • Follow the directions...
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I read some mixed reviews about this item before purchasing. Some folks complained about the marker dripping. You need to prime the tip, but don't over do it. Just do a bit at a time until the tip becomes saturated. Slow and steady wins the race. In regard to the bleed over on the things you are burning, that has to do with the "wicking" of the product you are applying too. Soft woods are really going to soak up the product and "bleed" outside your area. Just use a light coating at first and then go over it again if you want a darker scorch. If you rush it, you'll ruin it. The pen/product works fine, the operator needs to be careful. ... show more
