Aggressive tread good for dirt riding yet the center ridge helps a little with rolling resistance on pavement. All in all a good tire, especially for the price. I do wish it had a Kevlar bead but I don't expect it at this price point. The steel bead is still easy enough to get the tire on and off the rim. The tire was a little narrower than I had hoped for, but the tread is deep, and grips well on wet, and muddy surfaces. Smooth ride & easy install, if you know what you're doing, and it's pretty simple to figure out. Get a good quality tube to pair the tire with, and enjoy your ride.

This tire does everything the description says it will. I bought two, along with inner tubes, to replace dry-rotted tires on my old Schwinn bike. This bike is at my cabin, so I ride a lot of mostly desolate roads in northwest Wisconsin. None are steep, and a mountain bike isn't mandatory, but rural Wisconsin spends around $50 on roadwork each year so the roads are in rough shape. Potholes and numerous tractor divots abound making a rugged bike tire a must. I've only been riding these tires for a few weeks now, but they seem to be living up to their billing. A long time ago, when Schwinn bikes were still made in America by the Schwinn family, I was told 26" Schwinn tires are not interchangeable with OEM tires. I was only a kid so I never verified this, but I figured if it still holds true, then why mess around with a knock-off? So far so good. Like other reviewers state, I don't want to be stuck on a rural Wisconsin road with a flat, so I appreciate the durable build on these tires. Even if they aren't made by Schwinn, they are made to Schwinn's specifications. ... show more

Debated on all the other brands, both less expensive and supposedly high quality long lasting construction, but like most things I buy and thru experience, ended up with a brand I trust and grew up on. Was not disappointed, actually so impressed I am buying another simply to match the front tire on my nice Cannondale. I ride 99% city for exercise - these tires are spot on 1.95 as advertised which I prefer for pavement, higher speeds, and smoother riding.
